Janet Karpinski on The Daily Show tore Rummy and Gonzales apart
...with a smile.

Do you think this will become the next big news story the corp. media will finally get around to reporting-- the abuses at Abu Ghraib with orders from the top to circumvent the Geneva Conventions?

Alone it may not get much media play. But in the larger scheme of the false WMD intelligence, the failed war and WH scandals, it might whet the appetites of the (otherwise) complacent, propagandist media.

1. And where in the heck are the rest of the photos?
That 20-day appeals period lapsed last week.

5. We still have no idea what's really going on at Guantanamo
although we could venture an educated guess when inmates are begging to be let to die.

6. Karpinski should have shown the unseen torture photos on the Daily Show.

9. She was probably marched off the base in her underoos.
I doubt she had access once she was relieved of her duty.

12. I know I asked the same question last week. I guess we'll just have to
wait and see what the ACLU can come up with.

7. Not too bad a place
really...it's getting to the point that TDS is a better source of real info than anything else on TV. And a lot of people know it.

13. al franken had a good interview with her
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 12:56 AM by faithnotgreed
i watched his show on sundance where i caught the interview which was really the first time i heard her
it was positive seeing them discuss this and she came off quite well - a bit shy but articulate and assured at the same time

admittedly thats the talk show version but i was glad to see it

8. Janet's been great on the talk show circuit...
She was on jerkoff's show (O'Reilly) and his face was hilarious. He was going through the motions of the interview and didn't slam her (probably because he felt he would have gotten shitloads of heat for slamming a former Female Military Commander considering all the bullshit he spews about people in uniform). But you could see the whole time he was disgusted by what she was telling him and he wished he could verbally disagree with her. The restraint was amazing for Billy the Bully but it was quite humorous at the same time.

Good for Janet BTW. Don't let these fuckers off for their responsibility in all of this.

10. Jon really softballed her....
... and that's good.

Jon said she should take 30 seconds and explain the whole Abu Ghraib thing..... and she DID!

Hard for me to feel much sympathy for a high-ranking officer who didn't know and didn't bitch like hell when she found out.

In her defense, I'll bet the Powers That Be had her by the balls..er.... whatever.
