I don't know about anyone else, but I found this cartoon
by Daryl Cagle just a little bit disturbing (it can be found here- http://cagle.msnbc.com/news/MiersResigns/main.asp):

2. It is sort of funny.
I guess I'm just being a little too sensitive.

4. Maybe?
It's very symbolic, IMO.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

3. If there's some nuanced meaning or metaphor...
...I don't get it.

5. Miers is road kill
And Bush (in that striking Charlie Brown shirt) was leading the cat across the highway.

At least that's what I see in it. Art is in the eye of the beholder.

7. Isn't it also
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 12:53 AM by GrpCaptMandrake
reminiscent of Lyndie England and Abu Ghraib, with the possible exception that Lyndie's got about 30 IQ points on Dear Leader?

On edit: I'm guessing this cartoon will draw the ire of PETA for "Imaginary Animal Cruelty."

12. Yeah, that too, but the Charlie Brown mixed metaphor seems weird
And as someone else said, Miers ain't Snoopy by a long shot.

8. Yeah, not too nuanced, really.
No reference to the radical Right Wing.

No reference to the hypocrisy of the radical Right not allowing an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor for the President's nominee.

And what's up w/ the Charlie Brown t-shirt? I'm totally missing something there, especially since the dog looks nothing like Snoopy; not that that would make sense since the Snoopy/Charlie Brown relationship is nothing like Miers/Bush.

Why is Miers represented as a dog on a leash, held by Bush?

I suppose Miers *could* be considered Bush's fawning lapdog, but I still don't get the Charlie Brown t-shirt.

9. That's the best part
the "up or down" argument is now officially dead.

Now, if a few democrats will just grow a spine to deal with the certifiable right wing freak that's sure to be nominated next . . .

:wishing:

11. So much for loyalty to Buxh on the Republican Beltway
I guess that qualifies as a "down" vote
