I think the Miers nomination was a well-planned diversion |
|
Think about it. In August, while Cindy Sheehan embarrassed bush, kkkarl was dealing with a kidney stone. When Katrina hit, kkkarl was in the hospital. And dubya failed miserably in handling both disasters.
Then kkkarl returned to work. CNN just said he was involved in picking Miers. I think it was decided that we all needed a diversion. So what better diversion than a SCOTUS nomination?
dubya has a history of trying to control the media. It is obvious that in spite of the Armstrong Williams disaster, his administration is still trying to drive the stories on the 24 hour news channels.
I also don't believe it was her idea to withdraw her nomination. As soon as the tension got high this week, as we have been waiting for indictments, she withdraws and once again is on everyone's radar. So what is on CNN right now? Not the indictments. They did a brief story and it led the hour, but they immediately went in to talking about Miers.
Can we say DIVERSION??

1. Yes. Bushco is all-powerful. |

I think that they are gods. We really don't stand a chance against such brilliance. :sarcasm:

9. Perhaps if you go to the White House... |
|
...waving a white flag, they'll let you off with a spanking. :)
Listen, I'm only going to say this one time - and it's not directed at you, so don't take it personally: They are weak. Weak beyond your imagination! The strong don't have to lie. Lying is not brilliance. It is dishonesty. The ONLY reasons to lie are to avoid reponsiblity, meaning the liar is too weak to accept the consequences of their own actions; Or to make things easier on the liar. IOW, they are either cowardly or lazy. Neither is a particularly intimidating trait to my mind. Anyone who fears these notorious liars and cowards should really take stock.

2. she did seem more than willing to offer herself up, it did sweep... |

all other news off the headlines including the initial raging of a world war & rove had in this case a personal & direct benefit from having suggested a diversionary rovian tactic he would have only employed for the likes of the boy-king-caesar so who can say for sure but to suggest further
impeach them all they have to go!!!!

5. They kept telling us what good friends she and dubya are |
|
Then when I heard today that rove was in on the team that recommended her nomination, I figured it had to have been a diversion.

|
for this bush guy. she never really seemed into it; talk about walking obliviously through a scene & just phoning it in...that was Meirs, she knew she was out of her depth & had intention to stay imo
for bush to so cravenly, wantonly use even the people who want him to use them is a further scourge on this nation

we're giving them much more credit than they deserve. I think we read into their actions much more "strategery" than they have. Most likely, they're just throwing crap out there to see what sticks and we fall for it every time because we're so afraid of Rover. Somewhere along the line, someone decided he was a political genius just because he helped Boy George, a totally un-electable candidate, win elections. But if you look at how Rover did this, it was all through the extreme measures of dirty politics at its best -- or worst. So he lived up to his (undeserving) reputation. The only thing they have successfully done is instill fear in those who don't go along with them, including the media...fear based on loss of $$$, most likely, since that's what everyone seems to be so afraid of. It's time to stand up to them and tell them to go to hell.

10. No, because they're simply |

not that smart or that devious. After all, there was always the chance she'd be confirmed.
what I think is that since Roberts turned out to be a slam-dunk -- largely unknown but decidedly conservative -- Bush figured he could simply appoint absolutely anyone he wanted. And I don't understand what was wrong with the extreme right, given it's obvious to the most casual observer that Miers is herself extremely conservative. Whatever made them think she's not completely in accordance with the extreme right wing agenda?
Unfortunately, what's more likely I think is that Bush will put up an even more extreme right-winger, since his pattern is always to go from bad to worse.
And DON'T for one minute think of it as the Miers thing distracting from the Fitzgerald investigation, but rather the uproar over the ending of that investigation will completely swamp whatever new and worse Supreme Court candidate Bush comes up with.
They think they're really smart, smarter than any of the rest of us, so smart they can get away with anything. In the end, they're simply sneaky and sly and will eventually get caught. I just don't have a lot of faith it's going to happen soon.
