Whats amusing is that after the Bono and Janet Jackson "incidents" legislation was introduced to codify the seven dirty words. Only, it turns out the list had changed in the 25 years since the original case. The new list dropped tits and added asshole. Seriously.

My guess is that repubs don't mind using the word tits, but are scared to death that they'll be called assholes on television.

The fact that 'tits' is on there still cracks me up. Lenny Bruce did a great routine, after his obscenity bust, about the word 'cocksucker' without actually saying it.

In a recent survey in Britain, aside from cunt & motherfucker the most offensive words were nigger, paki, fag and other racial & sexual slurs.
