A question about press-releases:
I'm writing a story that was sent to me.

As long as I state: "According to a press-release from XYZ corp" am I able to use most of the text almost word-for-word... right?

I'm not trying to pull a Gannon, but what is the protocol for press-release?

1. I'd paraphrase, if I were you
and put their actual words into quotation marks. Eitehr way, it's certainly best to acknowledge the source.

2. I was going to acknowledge the source,
I'm planning to acknowledge the source right-off, but then pretty much use the release as-is with a few edits. I think that's okay for a press release right?

5. Not really.
All the experienced mods are currently skiing straight downhill at 60 MPH with their hair on fire. I can't find anything in my documentation that gives guidance, so I'm going out on a limb here.

If it's a press release, please give full attribution. You may post the entire press release.

If you get a nastygram from someone, tell 'em uhc send ya.

Peace.

6. I don't like to read through entire press releases
they lose my interest by the 2nd or 3rd paragraph

I'd do the same with these as we do with news articles

give the reader the link and let them decide to read the whole thing from the site

if you don't have a link, then I'd say post all of it
