Full disclosure: Are you a paid political operative? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 04:38 PM by paineinthearse
I have observed an increase in the number of members who consistantly post in support of one person or group.
Just as K Street lobbyists register with Congress, I feel it is ethical and right for all paid political operatives* to register their affiliations here.
For the record, I derive zero payments from political organizations or individuals.
I invite all who do derive capital or any other gain to state their affiliation and status.
========
* An employee of or contractor for any political party, elected official, candidate, PAC, lobbying interest....or "paid disruptor gloom-and-doomer & pot-stirring."

I was actually hoping to get some replies from people who are one-theme oriented and closely allied with certain factions. You know, the kind who use Rovian tactic of discreditiation and namecalling, jumping all over posts that are contrary to their position.

It has nothing to do with anything cogent to democratic politics or discussed on this forum however. It's a state of CT non-partisan issue specifically contained to the city of Hartford public schools and literacy concerns. Second rule of Fight Club applies.
I also have resumes in with at least 18 candidate running for office on a state or federal level, but since none of them have hired me yet, anything I say is still as a PC. Donate $ to and act as an unpaid activist for PeTA, various environmental orgs, PP of A, NARAL, ACLU and a lot of other people.

A paycheck every now and then would be a pleasant addition, but an unnecessary motivation for patriotic duty.
btw....back at bartcop and old MWO, we exposed some moonies who troll the political boards as part of their moonie mission and tithe to the Unification church. Moonies, bushbots, no difference.

I support almost all national Dems, some more strongly than others.
I mostly post here in support of one person, but also on other topics as I have time.
My reason for posting mostly on that one person is because sadly, there seems to be a campaign of disinformation, even smearing, of that person; and I believe that it is in the best interests of the Democratic Party to debunk that disinformation whenever I can.
I am first and foremost a Democrat. I will post on the topics that I feel are most important to restoring Democratic leadership to our country, my state, and my locality.
And oh yeah, I do get paid to be a Democrat - but just on Election Day, because I am on my local Election Board. :patriot:

I've volunteered for several politicians but I've never mentioned any support for them in the chats. The most I've done is hand out signs, go door to door and make phone calls to get support during election periods. I've only worked for politicians who are mainly local or under the radar so it really wouldn't make an impact anyway if I blabbed off about them.

There have always been a lot of DUers who support a particular candidate and post things favorable to that candidate. I haven't noticed any difference in the number or even who they are supporting. I am an Edwards supporter because I think he's what our party needs. I don't get paid for thinking so, and I don't get paid for writing it.
