3. Palumbo, PG County

as another lister has already pointed out, so I'll just add a link to Google. There have been many articles in the WaPo about him in the last few weeks.

The woman was working in a T-Mobile store near Andrews AFB when her estranged husband walked in, threw a container of gasoline on her, and set her on fire. She has third degree burns on her face. Really horrible story.

Google for "judge palumbo"

Body-in-trunk suspect got lots of counseling
'Doing satisfactorily' after 6 months of weekly sessions

Jaxon Van Derbeken, Chronicle Staff Writer
Wednesday, October 26, 2005

"The El Sobrante man charged with murdering a woman he had repeatedly terrorized attended a two-hour counseling session for domestic violence offenders just days before the slaying, authorities said Tuesday.

Scott McAlpin, 24, is charged with murdering 22-year-old Anastasia Melnitchenko of San Francisco, whose body was found in his car trunk Sunday by U.S. Park Police in the Marin Headlands.

McAlpin was on probation stemming from eight felony convictions in two separate cases for stalking, threatening and attacking Melnitchenko on several occasions from 2001 to 2004. Part of his sentence in the most recent case was that he attend a yearlong domestic violence prevention program.

A probation officer, Stacie Gardner, told Superior Court Judge Harold Kahn at a hearing Oct. 19 that McAlpin had been verbally abusive toward her. She wanted him to serve 10 days of work cleaning roadways. Prosecutors wanted him held for additional evaluation...."

see full article for full list of judges that "let him go" with minimal sentencing despite his horrendous track record of stalking and finally murdering his victim.

When will judges understand that these guys need to be locked up for good!

5. He says he did not intend to dismiss, but that it was a clerical error.
Sad, he's a Democrat.

Never had the impression that he didn't take domestic violence seriously.

How unfortunate for everyone involved.
