Two days that gave me hope. Scooter's only a small reason
why it has been a good two days. Friday I got together with a fellow activist, designed, printed fliers for Local control of our water. We printed out hundreds(4-5 hundred). When done we went our local vigil for the 2,000 dead. We quickly passed out some fliers then picked up signs and joined the vigil. What I found really hopeful was the support we got from the passing motorist. I saw no negative reaction. Cement truck drivers, police and suburbanites all gave us a honk or thumbs up.

This morning we leafleted the Farmer's market and the reaction to our cause of local ownership was overwhelming. Not only that, vendors were gifting us with free fruits and vegetables.

It was a good two days.

4. We have to do it one voter at a time. Standing up to
globalization like I am doing on the local ownership of water debate, or corruption by corporatist local politicians is how we enlist people to our side. We have to get out and make personal contact with the people. All they know of us is what the Republicans and Fox News have told them about us.

If government is the problem as the Republicans say, then by extension we are the problem. In a democratic society we are the government. If they say government is incompetent then they are saying we are incapable of running our affairs. We need to prove them wrong, we need to point out that they are trying to turn us against government of, for, and by the people.
