The Buzz: Florida politics
An interview with an upbeat governor
By Times Staff Writer
Published October 30, 2005

Gov. Jeb Bush predicts withdrawal pains when he steps down from "the most amazing job in the world." He's sick of FEMA bashing. He's annoyed with his father's national security adviser criticizing his brother's foreign policy. He's worried that citizens and some Republican leaders don't adequately appreciate his education reforms.

And in a wide-ranging TV interview, Bush also clearly left the door open to be tapped as someone's vice president.

The governor, upbeat but weary from hurricane duty, sat down with the Times and Bay News 9 for today's debut of Political Connections. (It airs at 11 a.m. every Sunday and can be seen any time on Monday on Channel 340.) The Buzz from Bush:

He won't peg either Republican gubernatorial candidate, Charlie Crist or Tom Gallagher, as the most likely to carry his philosophical torch.

1. I have always thought the plan was McCain/Jebbie
for ONE term then "because" of his age McCain does not run the second term and Jebbie is the 2012 "pick" for the Repugs. Just IMHO.

2. I would think that the American public........
would have had enough of the BFEE in our country's political machinery. There have been two bush's at the helm of our ship of state. One, the elder and much smarter of the two, steered our ship aimlessly, plotting a course to nowhere and taking the scenic route in getting there. The other, the younger and least intelligent of the family, has steered (or not steered) our ship of state onto the rocks, hopelessly grounded and taking on water fast.
Enough bush's already. We can never again let this Imperial family have control over our country, they don't have the sense for it.

4. No way. A failed president and an addicted daughter, I think Barbara
pushed everyone in her family to the level of their own in competency. Fl. is getting the message of the last FEMA response to this one, TX, LA, Al, etc. pretty much got it, (Nightline last night). The Bush nightmare should be over, but HELL awaits the currents in the CABAL. The problem is they like it HOT!

The pig farm owner is like his pigs, stuffed and opened mouth for the tomato! We are just waiting for the, Done, ready to eat!

The only problem, I have with this MORAN, is that he is so isolated, stupid and incompetent to GET IT!

I actually worry, for JEB, he thinks he is a good guy!

The Bush family, "Dumb, Dumb and Dumber!".

6. Jeb is a sinister individual
Edited on Sun Oct-30-05 07:45 AM by teryang
His education reform is another bush fraudulent scheme characterized primarily by the embezzlement of state funds. I liked his purchase of 200 million in Enron stock (for family friend Ken Lay) by the State Employee's Pension fund just days before it went bankrupt resulting in a total loss picked up by the taxpayers. But this is what bushes do. There was the fraudulent Destin Country Club developement deal which Jeb fronted before office which had to be covered by the FDIC to the tune of over 50 million which dissappeared. There was the IMC medicare/medicaid fraud which Jeb backed also to the tune of tens of millions in stolen federal funds.

Al Martin has fingered Jeb as the orchestrator of the murder of Barry Seal, who knew too much about the family protected cocaine importation business at Mena Arkansas during Iran Contra.

When Florida citizens endorsed classroom size limits in a state wide referendum, Jeb was caught on video informing cronies that he had, "a sinister plan." Months later the republican legislature eliminated the requirement for a senior year in high school ensuring that Florida retain its status as one of the dumbest states in the union.
