rush and his drug shopping -- my talking point
I was talking to some of my friends at lunch today at a restaurant in Incheon (Korea) and we got to talking about drugs and lush rimbaugh. I had explained how I felt that lushie wouldn't have done what he did had it not been for the U.S.'s often contradictory and archaic drug laws (just a note: Drug laws in Korea are brutally tight) One of my friends (she's Korean) wanted to know, "If you feel what Rush did was because of the law, why do you think he should go to jail?"
I replied, "I don't think he should. I hope he does because the very laws he's using to defend himself, he would have denied the average American. If the person arrested had been 'Joe Six-Pack', Rush would have been on his show screaming how this is another attempt by some welfare-sucking social parasite who lacks self-control trying to get off by using some ridiculous claim of privacy that doesn't exist in the Constitution." "This is why I hope he goes to jail." I told her, "Not for what he did, but because he would not hesitate to deny everyone else the same rights that he claims for himself."

Second note: I do hope he gets better. I've never been a drug addict and I hear it totally sucks. But hoping he gets recovers does not mitigate the fact that he has no compassion for anyone else.

1. Addiction does totally suck.
But as far as I am concerned, he has dug his grave with his teeth.

2. I agree
But I still think his REAL crime is surrounding himself with rights that he would deny other people in the same circumstance. That's what I hate so much about lush.

4. I totally agree with you.
If that Joe Six-Pack was arrested TODAY, Rush would be on tomorrow saying exactly that: "this is another attempt by some welfare-sucking social parasite who lacks self-control trying to get off by using some ridiculous claim of privacy that doesn't exist in the Constitution."

He's a raging hypocrite and his loyal band of sheeple lap it up like one hundred dollar bills. It's pathetic.

5. I don't feel sorry for him
Some addicts don't want to get out of it. If he's not smart enough to want to quit on his own, the hell with him. And he did more than just take lots of drugs. He got someone else to do his dirty work for him. He had the maid go do the buying and this put her in physical as well as legal danger. But nobody else matters to him except for him! So it's hard for me to have sympathy.
