Poll question: Special Schumer-fied poll: Bush - Will he hunker in the bunker?
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., urged an internal investigation and that Bush, "if need be, take the vice president to the wood shed."

"The real question for President Bush is going to be: is he going to be like Nixon — hunker down, get into the bunker, admit no mistakes," Schumer said, "or like Reagan, who actually admitted mistakes, did a midcourse correction and brought in new people, bipartisan people, people above ethical reproach, into the White House."

2. he would have to admit a mistake... that's completely impossible for bush.
part of his espoused theory of leadership is that mistakes are never admitted... it's policy at the white house. he'd have to have a mid-course policy rewrite... bush's crony system is so completely stiff and brittle that any changes of that sort would crumble the works completely... he'd end up with a shattered, broken, useless group of infighting goofballs.

he should just resign. he doesn't have a mechanism by which he can attempt to lead this country any longer. he's been obviated by his own cruel tactics. he no longer has a place here... he's a man without a country.

It's hard work, but he will try to stay the course. Of course he knows no other way.

4. That picture really pisses me
off. So damned phony, Bush coming off like he landed that plane on the carrier. He was never trained as a carrier pilot. Takes much training and skill to land on that little postage stamp. Phony pissant.
