dumb question. He's President, and only the President has the constitutionally granted power to appoint Supreme Court Justices.
Back when Clarence Thomas got appointed, and then confirmed despite what I thought was clear evidence he wasn't up to the job, I honestly expected he'd resign in a few years. Well, that hasn't happened, has it.
What we have to care about a lot more is the Senate takes its Advise and Consent duty seriously.

20. Partially, the wrong question.... |
|
His moral "fitness" is only part of it. He is now, according to all the polling being done, woefully out of step, ideologically with more than a majority of Americans. He should be precluded from making any "lifetime" appointments until and unless his polls numbers reflect a majority of support from the American people.
Any appointment now refelcts a failed ideology, and a failed government. And, for those of us who disagree him, to have to live with his crony appointments for a lifetime is beyond wrong.
