BAGHDAD, Iraq - Six American soldiers were killed Monday by roadside bombs in two separate attacks in
Iraq, while U.S. jets bombed two insurgent safe houses near the Syrian border in an attack aimed at al-Qaida in Iraq, the U.S. command said.

Coalition forces also swept through several areas of Baghdad, taking nearly 100 suspected militants into custody, the command said.

1. It's in the noise
Americans don't really care. Dead soldiers have become just part of the landscape.

2. Very disappointed in America's reaction !
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 08:50 AM by NicRic
Iam very disappointed in the lack of action by the American public to show more outrage at each and every young man or women who's life is lost in this war for profit and oil ! If any of thse young men or women where one of our own ,we would feel much differantly to try and justify even one loss of life by stating they knew this could hapen when they joimed ,is a cop out and just not true ,most of the poor men and women where talked into joining by given a false promise that deadly force would onyl be used as a last resort and as a defensive action ,instead their lives have become a tool for large coperations and the bush camp to fullfill their promise of big profits for the people who make a living at war profiteering ! We where lied into this war and the lie continues to morph form one reason to another ,in the mean time each and every young life lost is another crime against humanity , support the troops stickers on every other car ,I support them the best way possible ,by insisting they come home alive instead of in a cheap plywood casket !

3. Don't get upset. They're not people. They're numbers on a scorecard.
According to the scorekeepers, we're "winning". Remember, according to the scorekeepers we won the war in Vietnam because we wiped out the entire Viet Cong and the North Vietnames Army. Twice.

We are now doing the same to the "failed insurgency".

5. In March of 2004, when the war had been going on for one year,
I joined a lot of people and went to Crawford to mark one year of this mess.

I carried one sign and I kept it simple. I put on it a question I wanted the answer to and a question I wanted everyone who saw it to think about:

HOW MANY MORE HAVE TO DIE?

That was nearly 20 months ago. At that time, I was still hopeful that bush would be out of office by now and we could stop the bloodshed in Iraq.

Now it looks like the sky's the limit for the number of soldiers they are willing to sacrifice.

I'll keep asking the question, but I have the feeling the answer is "untold more, untold more."
