Sean Hannity Blasts GOP as Pathetic & Weak
On his radio program this week, Hannity went on the warpath over the GOP's failure to live up to its campaign promises. His mounting criticisms have aroused the ire and scorn of party officials, whom he lambasted for attacking him. He cited a recent Gallup poll showing voters' extreme dissatisfaction with the Republican-controlled Congress.

"My allegiance is not to you power-hungry, power-grabbing politicians in Washington," Hannity said. "My allegiance is to my audience, not you. It's frankly disgusting what you Republicans in Congress have done. You deserve these numbers." He urged them to stop calling with complaints, saying "you guys are pathetic."

His diatribe continued: "How can anybody turn around and turn on people like me who supported you and helped put you in power. I might as well support Ted Kennedy. You've been pathetically weak in your leadership. You stand for nothing."

He criticized Republicans' failure on the war on terror; border security and immigration policy; tax issues; growth of government and for "big-spending pork-barrel projects" recklessly pushed through Congress.

"You no longer stand for the principles you ran on, and it will ultimately be your downfall," he warned.

1. Wow, a rare moment of lucidity.
The GOP has no interest in anything of practical value to the American people. They only go for hot-button religious issues, and cold hard cash in their own pockets.

5. not really lucidity.....
when knuckledraggers and human garbage like hannity, limbaugh, coulter, etc criticize the GOP, it's for not being conservative enough. hannity will try to say that the piss poor approval rating of the congress and the president are due to caving into the liberals.

hell, i saw ann the man coulter on tv blaming liberals for harriet miers. she was claiming that the liberals forced bush into selecting her. watching repuke filth on tv is like watching a circus of retarded clowns.

2. What the heck is he throwing a hissy fit for? Aren't they getting
everything they wanted? Cheap labor, lower taxes, plenty of sweetheart deals for their contributors?

Guess he senses the pendulum will start to swing back to the left and he's trying to set himself up as some sort of traditional conservative. That's a stretch. Especially since he's based his entire career on being an attack dog for the RR and the neocons.

7. What are Hannity's audience shares? Bet they are in the toilet.
Could HE be searching for a new base?

Some of the wing nut pundits are finding out how out of the mainstream THEY have been. Message to them also: "You deserve these numbers... you guys are pathetic."

Sean, stop complaining and help O'Rielly find a good support group for the two of you gas bags! So many of the people had their eyes opened during Katrina that they threw up their Kool Aid. You're Fired!

18. Yep...
From 7/23/05:

"The post-election blahs continued at WMAL-AM (630), the news-and-talk station that features conservative yakkers Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Graham. The station, owned by the Walt Disney Co., recorded some of its lowest numbers ever among adult listeners, finishing 20th among all stations. During election season last fall, WMAL was the region's 11th-rated station, but its audience is off 45 percent since then..."

From 9/28/05:

Air America has grown in one year from 25 affiliates to 67. Their listening audience has increased from 1.3 million to 3.1 million in the same time period and they have also instituted a Air America Syndication, with the Thom Hartmann Show as its first offering. Granted Air America isn't the juggernaut that Clear Channel is, but they are trending upward, whereas the right wing talks shows are trending downward. Air America Radio has surpassed Hannity in Portland, OR. Al Franken's show bested Hannity in Minneapolis. As Drudge reported recently, The Radio Factor is being dumped by 630 KHOW Talk Radio in Denver. KHOW is the station that turned so mercilessly on Ward Churchill and whose radio talk guys O'Reilly booked on his TV show several times. Guess that wasn't enough sucking up to save the Radio Factor from getting ditched..."

O'Reilly is tanking too.

Hannity is a tool. If he's spewing crap, it's because he's gotten marching orders.

14. I think this is just part of
an effort to "fire up the base".I'll bet we start hearing from all the right wing talking heads that Bush's latest s.c. nomination is proof that dubya has seen the light and will never stray from their icy grip again. They need those poll numbers to go back up or they are pretty much toast to all but the most strident Bush lovers.Although I do think if Hannity thought that his listeners were ever to abandon the extreme right wing that he shills for,he would go right along with them. He's a media whore and it truly is all about the benjamins.

15. Interesting -- "I might as well support Ted Kennedy"
A lot of what Hannity's saying is right (possibly for the wrong reasons).

In any case thing, the growing divide in the GOP is only a good thing.
