http://www.presstitutes.com/presstitutes/2005/10/bush_nominates_.htmlFirst, the media will play along with the distraction game, i.e. don't expect to hear much about a major indictment in the White House.
Second, expect reporters to blindly and unanalytically repeat terms like "conservative," "judicial activism," "legislate from the bench," "strict constructionist," "strictly interpret the Constitution," etc... As in "Bush wanted to avoid someone who would engage in judicial activism, so he picked a conservative judge who is a strict constructionist, someone who will strictly interpret the Constitution and who won't legislate from the bench."
Never mind that these long-standing buzzwords are loaded and entirely deceptive. It would seem logical that most Americans with little background in Constitutional Law are likely to respond positively to the notion that a judge won't "legislate from the bench," and will "strictly interpret the Constitution."
Let's see if Democrats or Pre$$titutes try to debunk this misleading terminology.
