It seems that Democrats and Republicans have been battling
over our country like divorced couples battle over custody of their children and it's the children that lose in the end. Both parties are so caught up with "winning" that what's best for the country is secondary. I would even go so far as saying Democrats have taken the position as the abused wife and Republicans as the bully husband.

6. I believe the Democrats have stood up and there's a lot that
still needs to be said and done but there's a built in "upstream" factor that Republicans don't have to deal with.

7. Democrats change just like everyone else
Would you have supported the Democrats of the deep south in the early sixties? They were very much racists and a good portion of them changed Parties after Kennedy and Johnson changed the way America thought about race. In the seventies and early eighties Democrats were first into battle against Nixon and Ford and Reagan. It was after Clinton won Office that the fight just seemed to disappear and has not yet returned. Someday hopefully it will return once again but in the meantime our country is in serious jeopardy and they sit on their thumbs. They should be demanding to be on the weekly news shows and entertainment shows to try and educate the public. They are more concerned for their jobs than their country and that puts them into the same category as Republicans in my books. I have lost much hope in Politicians. I believe the only way out of this mess is by electing independents. Those not ingrained in the system. They will be the ones to shake things up. Not the Dino saurs that are in office now.

9. concerned for their jobs than their country
i dont agree. i listened to kerry's plans that so many said he didnt have. that he repeated often. i was looking forward to some of those plans. they would have helped me, my family, and the rest of us.

i think this is an irresponsible statement personally. i see that dems work a hell of a lot harder for me, and i would prefer to have them in the office than a repug. i do not see them as the same party. i think if we had a dem in 2000 EVERYTHING would be different today

if that is the case, then i dont see how you can say they are the same

doesnt make sense to me.

5. Dems are the battered wife who has given up.
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 10:38 AM by cassiepriam
Repugs are the abusing husband who has the kids, the house, the bank account. The husband is now beating up the kids, starving them and stealing all assets children had. Mom can't or won't do anything. And no one else cares. Everyone else sees the abuse but reacts with either approval or acquiescence.

Welcome to American, the dysfunctional family from Hades.
