Dear Editor: Once again, President Bush has shown he is a divider, not a uniter. In trouble because his White House outed a CIA agent, endangering the safety of all of us, he appointed a man to appease the radical right wing of his party to the Supreme Court. Judge Alito has voted to knock down the Family Medical Leave Act, has voted to allow discrimination in hiring, and he has voted that a strip search of a 10 year old girl, who was found at home when the police had a warrant for her father, allowable. (Doe v. Groody, 2004.)
Is this the America we want?? If not, please contact your Senator and the White House and demand Judge Alito's withdrawal from consideration.
Regards, Adigal

And if you're in the mood to write a letter of your own, DUers, you might work in the fact that Bush said that Miss Miers was the "best" person he could find to appoint to the Court. But when push came to shove, he couldn't be bothered to defend her nomination, but let the right wing of his party scuttle her without so much as a committee hearing, let alone the sacrosanct "up-or-down" vote that conservatives have insisted for years is due any nominee.
