Limbaugh: "since when did libs care about the CIA?"
When it comes to overthrowing people's movements in poor countries to benefit corporate interests, maybe some "libs" don't care but I'll tell you where some "libs" do care about the CIA....

When it is the job of that particular CIA officer to protect us from terrorists obtaining Weapons of Mass Destruction...and then for malicious, punitive, political reasons they are exposed along with any of their contacts and operations in the field thus putting the American people in REAL jeopardy of an attack from WMD.

The very same WMD that this administration proclaims to be fighting a War on Terror for.

The hypocrisy is stunning. The criminality is breath-taking.

8. It's matter of an informed and discriminating conscience.

Progressives judge the actions of individuals and organisations against moral standards. It's called "having a moral compass". Something President Clinton had in many of the most important matters affecting the US and its citizens, but is glaringly absent form the present neocon regime.

My country (qua the CIA) right or wrong is for the sociopath, because for the progressive, to support the evil one's country does in the world can never be FOR its interests. It is not a matter of wishy-washy, airy-fairy pie-in-the-sky idealism, but the most profound realism.

9. Holdit-the CIA ?? that liberal operation???
Back when I listened to Rush (a few months ago) part of the cover for the lying into war was that the CIA gave them bad information. Then the CIA tried to show that it hadn't given them bad information the NeoCons just cherrypicked what they could and set up their own intelligence operation to create anything else they needed Rush actually said that the CIA is full of liberals that were set on getting back at Bush and bringing him down.

This was repeated often around RW hate radio at the time.

You can look it up.

10. well, he does have a point in a limited sort of way....
I regard the CIA as only marginally less evil than the KGB, frankly, at least based on it's history of shady dealing in defense of "American interests" and a rather corrupt foreign policy. Make no mistake-- I'm not defending the CIA. The Bush administration is simply not above the law-- what I think of the CIA is not particularly relevant to that, IMO.

17. Gawd I hate his BS
Rush Limbaugh 101.

1. Assert something completely bogus about Democrats/Liberals.
2. Attack Democrats/Liberals based on the assertion.
3. Declare yet another smug victory of his intellect.

I often wonder if he just laughs his ass off at how his Dittoheads just lap this koolaid up.

18. A grain of truth there
Plame was involved in tracking WMD, which just about 100% of everybody agrees is absolutely necessary for us to do. I'll have to admit though, that I'd care a lot less if she had been into "wet work," assassinating or overthrowing people like Arbenz, Mossadegh, Allende or Chavez.

We'd have never known she was a CIA agent had it not been for republicans outting her.

edit- I apologize. It's not really a partisan thing. It is just that Blimp Gasbag phrased it that way. Shouldn't you be in jail, Rush?

But then I remember that folks like Rush are deranged fuckwads, and the burden is lifted.

Y'know, if OxyRush was smart, he'd just shut the fuck up about the CIA right here and now.

But he's an overfed, overpaid, highly self-medicated idjut so he'll just keep spewing his nonsense. And the CIA will be listening....
