US Military wants to own the weather
US Military Wants to Own the Weather

What would a military strategist gain in having an "on-switch" to the weather?

Clearly, it offers the ability to degrade the effectiveness of enemy forces. That could come from flooding an opponent’s encampment or airfield to generating downright downpours that disrupt enemy troop comfort levels. On the flipside, sparking a drought that cuts off fresh water can stir up morale problems for warfighting foes.

Even fooling around with fog and clouds can deny or create concealment – whichever weather manipulation does the needed job.

In this regard, nanotechnology could be utilized to create clouds of tiny smart particles. Atmospherically buoyant, these ultra-small computer particles could navigate themselves to block optical sensors. Alternatively, they might be used to provide an atmospheric electrical potential difference -- a way to precisely aim and time lightning strikes over the enemy’s head – thereby concoct thunderbolts on demand.

Perhaps that’s too far out for some. But some blue sky thinkers have already looked into these and other scenarios in "Weather as a Force Multiplier: Owning the Weather in 2025" – a research paper written by a seven person team of military officers and presented in 1996 as part of a larger study dubbed Air Force 2025.

1. Hey, it'd be nice to have the Ark of the Covenant too, militarily.
Doesn't mean it's gonna happen.

3. Thanks for posting this topic, shance. . .
been thinking and looking for such material since my view, post-Katrina-Rita, is that "US politicians want to own the weather" . . .

and, IMHO, already have to serve their agendas. . .ya know, when the truth gets too close to being revealed, out comes a hurricane or terra alert to distract the public.

Call me crazy, call me conspiracy-whacked, I don't give a crap. . .I put NOTHING past these SOBs.

5. Your welcome Lena.
I don't know if you're aware of the Weather Modification Act that became law October 1st. The primary sponsor of the bill was Kay Bailey Hutchison. The contents of the law are very vague, and there needs to be more examination of this 'timely' piece of legislation.

I think non-profit environmental organizations should be calling for an investigation into the HAARP project in Alaska, and citizens need to demand answers and information as to how our tax dollars are being used to make us more vulnerable by our own government and military.

4. the random factor....
according to science, even surefire lab tests using known quantities/qualities to prove a verified end result SOMETIMES fail, due to....a speck of dust, or a blip in the ampherage, or a slight knock on a gurney cart etc. the weather isn't just a buncha fixed variables, all mashed up in a culture ie earth atmosphere, and reacting to earth's turning, to sunlight and possibly passing comets etc, unseen, but still felt.....there's a song by moody blues that mentions 'with the power of ten billion butterfly sneezes!' and the question is, what if only 9 billion butterflies sneezed? would it upset the result?
the thing is, these same monkeys who have money to sabatoge the weather as nature does it cannot do nothing about the after effects of hurricain katrina, or the pakistan earthquake... nothing! they can't stop one youngster in the inner city from joining a drug gang and committing a murder; they can't stop one young person from reading news and seeing that lies and dishonesty and cruelty are the currency of life that gets people places, not even one! Yet they fukk with the weather
