help me disprove "Ritter is a Lier" article
You know the story...

In a "discussion" with an obnoxouse freeper, he says Ritter is a lier and after much harrangueing about not actually pointing out any of the lies, he posts some RW talking point sites as "proof"

Now looking them over I got alarm bells right off beucase the first took a Ritter quote out of context. Same in another one. And so on an so on. But not being a "Ritter" or "Iraqi Inspection" expert, I wanted to get some help so I can show at least some of the outright lies (This guys is an idiot and so going into how the authors used propaganda tools "appeal to authority" or how that isn't what Ritter was actually saying right then or how idea that the media was anti-war is rediculous would all be a waste of time. better to show where the authors are claiming something factually incorrect.

here' s a paragraph from one site..."
* Scott Ritter's former boss, Richard Butler reported to the UN that Iraq retains weapons of mass destruction. An independent investigation initiated by Russia confirmed the veracity of Butler's report.

* David Kay, Chief U.N. Nuclear Weapons Inspector in Iraq from 1991 through 1993, told a Senate committee that "There should be no doubt that Iraq, under Saddam, continues to seek nuclear weapons capability and that given the time it will devote the resources and technical manpower necessary to reach that goal." As for the use of force, Kay told CNN "It's only when Saddam fears for his very survival that there's any hope that he will admit inspectors. So if you want to give peace a chance, you need to authorize the president early to use military force if he fails to."

* Richard Spertzel, Chief Biological Weapons Inspector from 1994 through 1998, reported to a Senate committee, "There is no doubt in my mind that Iraq has a much stronger BW program today than it had in 1990. Perhaps of most concern would be anthrax and tularemia bacteria and smallpox virus as well as antianimal and anticrop agents."

* Dr. Khidir Hamza provides an insider's opinion on Saddam's capabilities as Iraq's former Director of Nuclear Weaponization, and the highest-ranking scientist ever to defect. He told PBS that Iraq is very close to getting nuclear weapons. "If it managed to get , either from Russia, from some of the ex-Communist states, one way or the other, then it is within two to six months ... because they already built a mock-up, complete." "

The other two sites the freeper gave are:
http://emperor.vwh.net/analysis/ritter.htm
http://www.leftwatch.com/archives/years/2002/000093.html

Any help would be appreciated. I am already seeing a few Lies by Ommision but the more ifo the better.

Thanks

1. Except everyone of those clowns was wrong.
See Kay's last report. There were no WMD or WMD programs or WMD program activities in Iraq at the time of our illegal invasion. So, somebody got it wrong. Scott Ritter was one of the ones who got it right.

2. The statements are lies - Butler never reported that Iraq had WMD

Russia never reported a verification of WMD. He said he had not verified the destruction of all the weapons that Iraq admitted to in 1991 (turns out that was because Iraq overstated what they actually had).

Spertzel on bio was referring to one very good Iraq lady scientist bio weapon person being kept busy by Iraq- but he had no knowledge of a bio-weapons program.

Dr. Khidir Hamza on PBS said the 1990 program he referred to was dead by 1995.

David Kay, did say what is quoted and he was wrong as he now admits and should have listened to Scott Ritter.

But my favorite source there was "techcentralstation.com" which is a PR release site run by a "friend" who beyond posting Corporate handouts also posts his own thoughts saying that based on his math education such and such is true - forgetting to add he has no math education - only a post grad Stat course - or saying as a scientist - forgetting that his degree is in none of the specific sciences but is a BS - or BA> - in "General SCience". He even pretends a knowledge of the law on occassion based again on an at best one course sampler. And don't get me started on the Global Warming lies he has posted over the years. Roger Ailes and friends pay him to post crap that they repost on Fox Cable News. For the record the RW tried to SLAM suit a fellow that said the guy was a liar and just a lobbyist back in the mid-90's - and that fellow was not afraid of the Slam suit and indeed persisted and won the Court case with the Court in effect saying Tech Central's owner is just a lobbyist and paid PR flack for the corporations.

Great source!
