I think the more people spotlight Rush's comments, the more powerless Rush becomes.

Seriously.

No one challenged the man during the first few years of his radio program. He was seen as an "entertainer" who really didn't change minds, and was only preaching to the choir.

However, look at Rush today. The Bush Administration sent him to Afghanistan. He's involved in the inner circles of our government. They give him the talking points and he spews them to millions--who then convert these talking points into a mantra that becomes truth.

Rush, and others like him, have managed to prevent the truth from ruling the day. The old, "If you repeat a lie enough times, it becomes the truth" is totally true in Rush's case.

We are losing, on many levels, because this bullshit goes unchecked and unchallenged.

Yes, he's a fathead. Yes, he's a liar. Yes, he's annoying.

However, his words need to be decimated. We can all be like little Fitzgeralds--bringing truth and decency to the debate--and obliterating what Rush says. It's important to to do this.

Hitler and his brigade rose to power and maintained power because the Nazis were skilled at catapulting propaganda. Like it or not, Rush is a skilled orator. He's effective at disseminating lies about us and positioning Republicans as the good guys--when clearly they're not.
