Halloween is such a Republican Holiday: Garrison Keillor
From Saturday's A Prairie Home Companion:

You try to scare everyone to death. Then you hurry up and try to consume everything you can, without regard for the consequences.

True or not: it's the Republican way?

3. Teaching children blackmail. (It's "Help The Poor" no longer.)

"Trick or Treat" is fascism and terrorism.
"Help The Poor" is liberalism.

When was the last time you had kids come 'begging' and collecting for UNICEF? :eyes:

6. You just brought back memories of me trick-or-treating for UNICEF
back in the '60s. If I had a child, I'd encourage them to do that tonight.

9. When I was a kid, we got as much fruit and homemade treats as ...
... store-bought, and we got lots of pennies and nickels, too. Afterwards, we always visited the kids in the neighborhood who were shut-in (polio and childhood diseases were still pretty common) and shared with them. We didn't have a children's hospital nearby, but those who lived closer to those would end their evening of trick-or-treating there. The most common costumes were hobos and tramps ... with cowboys a second place. The second most common costumes for girls were adult women's dresses and high heels -- like nightclub clothing. It was all about social issues - economics and justice.

4. GOP the party of headless horsemen.
If they stay in the GOP long enough they lose most of their body and little remains except the horses ass.
