Rovian Rope a Dope, While we moan about Alito
The House Repugniks are busy slashing programs that our disadvantaged citizens need.

http://edition.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/27/congress.budgetcuts.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- House Republicans voted to cut student loan subsidies, child support enforcement and aid to firms hurt by unfair trade practices as various committees scrambled to piece together $50 billion in budget cuts.

More politically difficult votes -- to cut Medicaid, food stamps and farm subsidies -- were on tap Thursday as more panels weigh in on the bill.

For a Weak President, and an "unpopular" White House, the Repugniks seem to be full steam ahead in all their programs and all agenda items. I told you all a couple weeks ago, this White House doesn't care about Public Opinion Polls, they are full speed ahead on the agenda.

1. I guess I don't see your point.
Did you expect the republican controlled congress to stop legislating because bush is unpopular?

3. I think the idea was...
How can a leader and his government remain so out of touch with people and what they want?

It really is amazing if we are a so-called democracy... which of course we aren't since our officials are only accountable to corporations, lobbyists, and donors.

2. I know...
Bush and the members of Congress are acting like there is no accountability to the people... only to corporations and extreme rwers.

We are a corporo-fascist police state. I'm having a hard time adjusting, but that's the fact.

And.. ask the school districts and the cities in Texas whether they've received any disaster relief money. Not only has the relief money been cut, but much of it has not even appeared yet.

One of those unfunded promises.. like giving billions for AIDS sufferers in Africa... or making the ownership society available to everyone... all down the drain now.

4. Knock it off.
I'm so tired of this Rove supergenius bullshit. This isn't designed to distract us from legislative issues.

We have battles to fight on all fronts. Right now Alito is a major battle worthy of discussion.

He's not better than Jim Jones or Charles Manson.

Edit: Oops! I meant to preface this by saying that I agree with you. :toast:
