Berlusconi: 'I tried to get Bush to not invade Iraq'. Interesting.
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/1031/dailyUpdate.html

Berlusconi is obviously trying to cover his own ass and shore up support at home. But to say this at a time when he's visiting the U.S. and Bush... at a time when his own government is coming under fire for possibly being the source of the forged Niger-uranium documents so key to the Plame case?

I honestly don't know what to make of this.

Perhaps more interesting, the Washington Post story today on his visit makes no mention of his statements. On the contrary, he is quoted as saying that Bush would be remembered as "the one who is so far sighted."

Hmmmm?

3. Yeah interesting. Who knew those forged Niger documents came
from Italy? Is there anyone in power who doesn't speak with a forked tongue?

6. Like Wayne and Shuster
in their famous Julius Caesar sketch "Rinse the Blood off My Toga", where after the assassination, Caesar's wife says, "I told him, 'Julie, don't go!'" Well, he went to the Forum just as Bush went to Iraq, and I suspect it'll turn out much the same way.

BTW, the sketch also gave us, "Gimme a martinus" "You mean a martini?" "If I'd wanted two I would have asked for them."
