BUSH twenty years from NOW... He's no Jimmy Carter
OK.
I just watched NOW on PBS with David Brancaccio.
An amazing interview with Nobel Prize winner, President Jimmy Carter.
Here is a man who is what, 78 years old?
A vibrant, engaged, curious, ambitious man, who is on a mission to eradicate disease in third world countries.

Speaking about the "Carter Center" an organization who's sole mission is to eradicate easily cured ailments such as "Guinea worm" and elephantiasis.

Jimmy Carter is, according to the right wing, a "whack job".
A man who is "weak" and responsible for the hostage crisis in Iran.
A failure.
A man who was responsible for the oil crisis in the '70's.
This man is a modern day saint as far as I am concerned.

As I watched this incredibly lucid man, discuss the fact that America, the "greatest country ever" a country founded on "Christian values" as we hear all the time,
is so stingy and miserly, it only gives sixteen cents for every one hundred dollars to poor countries.
Far behind Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Canada.
"Liberal" weak countries, as we are told.
A country who lets religiously insane politics bar condoms in countries where AIDS kills women and children at numbers we can't fathom.
What kind of insanity allows that to take place?

Condoms are evil, but people dying of a deadly disease such as AIDS is great policy?

I thought to myself...

What will Bush be doing when he is Carters age?
What good will he and his vapid wife be doing to help make things better?

I think, no I know, what the answer is.
Right wing, insane people like DOCTOR Michael Savage say "Liberalism" is a mental disorder.

I think WE know who is really mentally challenged.

What will BUSH be doing to make things better in our world when he is Jimmy Carters age?

I for one, hope he lives to be 100, so he can see all the destruction and suffering he has wrought.

Although, he probably never will be able to understand it.

May he have an eternity to figure it out in HELL.

1. One doesn't live so long in prison.
And I plan to see him rotting there soon.

2. Look no further than Poppy/Carlyle.
W's mission is to end FOIA and shred any 80's bit of info that still exists. If he enriches defense contacters in the process so be it.

3. I honestly don't think bush is going to live that long.
Hell-bent alcoholic for 20 years, cokehead, god knows what else he's done to inflict damage on his body and *cough* brain, such as it is.

Look at him. Half the time he looks like death warmed over, and that's with the finest makeup experts in the industry.

Nope. I think he'll blow a cork with one of his temper tantrums and his whole system will short out. He'll have a stroke and he'll be gone.

6. You're right
he's a 3D poster for the evils of drugs, booze, and all manner of self-destruction. No way he makes it to age 81 like Carter.

9. That is the first thought I had, he will never make another 20
I hadn't intellectualized it as to why...remember the last physical he had? The doctor was saying how tip-top he was. Can anyone believe this? He looks to me to be "on his way out."

Jimmy Carter came to the rescue the last time our nation was in turmoil...
with a lying and devious President. Jimmy decided to run for President himself. The people knew we needed an honest and decent leader after Nixon. JC knows we need the same type of person again....But he thinks he's too old to do it again.. :)

4. Bush isn't good enough to shine Mr. Carter's shoes, and he'd
probably use black shoepolish on brown shoes. He'll be watching TV and scratching his nuts when he's Mr. Carter's age cause that's all he's good for.

14. Absolutely ...
It just if amazing ...

Carter was SO mocked at the time ... Made out to be a complete dolt ... Meanwhile, he has maxed out the last 25 years ... He does that house building gig, has written like 20 books ...

Meanwhile, Reagan ran the country into the ground, and was revered ...

Look at Clinton ... The man is nearly bigger now than he was during his presidency ... ALL OVER THE PLACE making things happen ...

What is Bush 41 doing ??? He crawls out of his hole when his idiot son needs a philanthropy mess cleaned up, but other than that is in retirement ...

Look at our guys ... Carter and Clinton ... Look at their's Reagan and Bush ...

I don't agree with those who believe Bush43 is gonig to die early ... He is in very good shape physically, and once he gets out of the white house he is going to go the route of his dad, and kick back ...

Dimentia, yeah, I can see that ... Adding anything of worth to the world ... We ALL know that ain't happening ...

This comes down to the rights ability to dumb down this country into somehow vilifying TRUE leaders, and somehow glorifying tree stumps ...

5. What a different America we would be living in
if Jimmy Carter were in the White House now. Bright, well balanced, nice man.

Bush is self destructive. I doubt he'll make 78. I just hope he doesn't take us all with him!

15. Earlier this year I saw him, along with Rosalyn, on a program and he is
STILL slogging through swamps in Africa trying to eradicate a worm that is killing people there.

This man was so demonized by the evil GOP that Fundies think he's a bad man.

12. For various reasons, I'll predict that Bush won't live another 20 years.
It could be the result of anything: untreated "ex" alcoholics don't exactly have long lifespans, those who've fried their brains and possibly other vital organs through cocaine abuse don't have long lifespans, those who've royally pissed off the C.I.A., N.S.A., DoD, DID, State Department, much of their military and a majority of the global population don't exactly have long lifespans, you name the liability, Bush has clocked it. I'll be impressed if he's still with us in 2010.

16. I watched it too, and was struck by how deferential they were
to Bush and his "bold AIDS initiative." Of course, the religious right is determined to have that money spent their way ... which makes me wonder how many more people will die unnecessarily.

18. Bush will vanish from public view after January 20, 2009
No apprearances on "Larry King Live" as an ex-president. No interviews. No speeches. He'll get Karen Hughes or someone like that to write his Presidential memoirs for him and he'll get a shitload of money for it. But otherwise, he'll disappear from public view. He won't have his speechwriters to come up with words for him anymore. He won't have anything to say. He'll survive his presidency...but shrouded in disgrace and shame, ala Nixon after Watergate. He'll leave office even more unpopular than Nixon. No one will want to hear from him after he leaves office...he'll be a pariah even in his own political party.

19. what suprises me is how there is absolutely NOTHING
bush has done that has had a positive effect on the country. As much as I dislike nixon, at least he founded the EPA and did a few positive things about poverty. Hell, these days some see him to the left of Clinton on many issues. I think Clinton and Carter both regretted some of the selling your soul that you have to do to become president of this country. I think this lead them to engage in many positive works after they left office. Funny tho, I dont remember hearing about too much positive things happening from nixon reagan ford or bush sr after they left office.

20. Look at what Democratic presidents do after retiring, compared to Repubs
and it speaks volumes about the character of each political ideology.

Poppy Bush retired and set up ways to make billions and billions of dollars for himself.

Now he runs a "consulting" firm that brought themselves tons of money and brought us the Iraq invasion.

Smirk will probably just retire on his "ranch" where he will be able to spend his days sleeping till noon, clearing brush all afternoon, drinking all evening, and going to bed at 9pm.
