Why did the populace rally around Big Dog when he was being |
|
kicked, and now are piling on Smirk? Was it because Clinton was under attack, while *'s problems are his own doing? Or was it because WJC is a decent, likable horn dog while Smirk is a despicable snob? Or maybe because Big Dog worked his ass off to make this country better, while * is a lazy corporate whore? A question to ponder...

1. Because the economy was doing so well. |
|
It's hard to get mad at a president over a personal indiscretion when jobs are plentiful and the good times are rolling.
Smirk is suffering because people know the economy is on dangerous ground and energy prices are hurting them. If the economy was better, his numbers would be better.

2. Because people didn't care that the president got a blow job. |
|
Clinton had a pathetic, sad, half-affair, Bush has caused the deaths of thousands of America and has no clue how to stop it from becoming worse. People can see the difference, even if the media pretends it can't.

3. I think it was because too many people could relate to Clinton's problems. |
|
I'd bet almost everybody knew they would also lie if they were accused of infidelity, and probably lots of people already did!
Shrub on the other hand has spent his entire public life telling people how honest and God loving he is, while showing arrogance, egotism, and stupidity. Those are NOT characteristics people like to relate to, even the ones who have them.

9. Yes. He went into office with everyone knowing the Gennifer |

Flowers story, even if they only half-believed it. Remember the "bimbo eruptions?" The story that he had fathered a black child?
People who knew anything knew that other Presidents had had mistresses, and that the press had been more circumspect about reporting it.
Remember how Larry Flynt was busy during that time, outing all the politicians who had had affairs? I bet more than half of the people yelling about Clinton's sex lives had been unfaithful themselves, whether they were in public life or not.
Most people know someone who has been unfaithful. I have a friend who hated Clinton, but had a massively unfaithful husband. He had several affairs, and even spent 18 years supporting a daughter that he had with another woman while married to my friend. She loved him, and they worked out their problems. She was always very quiet about all the criticism of Clinton's sex life.
Eventually she told me that she understood Hillary's position, and even Bill's.
But we can't criticize *'s military record, or his admitted drinking problems.

5. Clinton's problem was personal. Bush's lies affect the public. |

I don't think that, deep down, most normal Americans truly expect anyone, President or otherwise, to publicly admit to an affair. It just isn't done, and it shouldn't have to be done. Clinton was forced into his lie by being asked a clearly private question in a public forum. I can't think of anyone I know who would have done differently in his shoes, especially while their family is still in the dark about it.
On the other hand, Bush and his lying administration have done many bad things to directly negatively affect Americans and citizens of other countries. They lie to cut aid to the poor, hurt the environment, allow torture, start ridiculous wars with the wrong countries, cut Social Security, outsource American jobs, and on and on. The lies have not been to hide a personal affair, but rather to gain greater wealth and power. The greed and corruption and disrespect for human life is plain and obvious, and it's clearly winning Bush no friends. I hope he enjoys his corrupt little life here on Earth, because when he dies he will surely burn in Hell. }(

6. Clinton was hired to be President and he did that job well, even if he |
|
screwed up his personal life.
Bush was "supposedly hired" to be President but he SUCKS at it.
Who the hell cares how good a husband Bush is if he is TERRIBLE at his actual job.
People recognize the difference.

10. Because Clinton's problems were none of our business. |

In contrast, the Bush crimes are definitely our business.
