Repug's Shooting Themselves In The Foot With All Their Cutbacks .... |
|
in the healthcare area. I predict that the poor and the middle class will revolt and create a groundswell of support for a National Health Care Plan. The more pressure put on the poor and middle class with cutbacks in healthcare insurance from employers, cutbacks in Medicare and Medicaid, drug programs, etc - the more they will get pissed off at the Repug's. Insurance companies and for profit healthcare corporations should pressure this administration to be fair or else they may wind up with nothing but a government legislated program of healthcare when *Co is gone.

2. Single Payer Healthcare is an issue Dems could win on |
|
The question is - do they know that? And how far are they willing to go to make it happen.
Our reps (Dem and Repub) are fairly removed from the reality of real life for their constituents.

3. National health care failed by 1 vote in the House under Clinton |
|
The long time Representative in the House from Michigan whose father was also a representative said that if Clinton had not delayed and given the insurance companies time to run all the ads, national health care would have passed. As it was, it failed by one vote.

9. And revoking that would have been the absolute first thing on |
|
Bush's list. The village idiot made a point of tracking everything Clinton did during his term and getting rid of it. We are the ones who are paying the price of his folly.

11. I know people who doubt that should walk the streets more. |
|
My bus driver was telling us how he sees public fights every day now, and I live in Maine. I went to a storytelling event last night made up of some of the snottiest rich people you will ever meet, giggling in self-satisfied glee. I felt physically nauseous thinking of how hard people I know work, some 60-80 hours a week so they can afford rent, while these rich jackasses from out of town by up all the property and drive rent up.
Sorry, had to vent:)

12. Just to make you feel better. We have those "rich" people here |
|
trying to maintain a "lifestyle" of the upper middle class. They buy big homes on interest only loans betting on the properties appreciating before the principal becomes due. They use their credit card for everything :scared: .
The poor and working classes will continue when the crash comes. Those of us that have made provisions for the crash will endure. But the "credit card rich" will be the first to tumble. With the new laws, they'll lose everything.

6. Contrast that to the R's Don Young's millions spent on Bridges to Nowhere |
|
I'm making DAMN sure that at least ONE organization puts out an ad in '06, contrasting the Republican's spending cuts in social services, to their support of over half a billion dollars being spent on useless bridges in Alaska. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/9/19/184746/914

It is interesting to note that Americans said abolishing poverty was their number 1 concern in a recent survey.

14. No, the corporatists are shooting the fundies in the foot, and hoping... |
|
...the fundies are too distracted by hot-button marriage rights and reproductive rights issues to notice.
