Kilgore-Kaine is now a referendum of sorts on Bush |
|
The gauntlet has been thrown down. Today we will show the country that Bush has the anti-Midas touch. This will be a lead-in to the 06 elections. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/11/07/bush.kilgore.virginia.reut/index.html

plans to fight this time.

4. Rigged elections concern me as well |
|
We have several very important issues regarding redistricting in Ohio and the last thing I want to see is rigged results. The issues should all pass as Taft is just trying to continue his crooked ways with a "NO" vote.
Here's hoping too that the Dems refuse to stand for another stolen election.

2. foolish move on team bush's part |
|
1) his involvement is so late that it is irrelevant.
2) they shouldn't do this (and risk more "fear" in congress per being associated with bush over the next year in the runup to the 2006 elections) UNLESS it is clear that Kilgore is going to win. And that is NOT clear.
3) If Kilgore win's - see point #1 - bush's late to the party come to help will be viewed as opportunistic (for bush, not Kilgore) rather than having any impact upon the election - this time around (as opposed to the last two elections where bushco got involved) there will be no sense of 'indebtedness' to team bush (to support any last thing bushco chooses) by the winner.

6. If Kilgore wins, rest assured Bush will declare victory in a big way. |
|
That's why this is so vital today.

9. Which is EXACTLY why, the probability is rather high for |
|
The Repukes to steal the election for Kilgore. See also the Washington Post puffpiece about HOW this election is being interpreted as a test of Junior's "moral clout, political clout, that he's not dead-in-the-water, that this will be the beginning of the comeback" and other bullshit.
Yes, Junior's been told "Kilgore wins, then he's won because of YOU, because you're GREAT" blah blah. Junior loves to brag and they've got to give him some news to prove to his tiny mind that he's still important and people 'um like him.
I'm very worried about there being no exit polls, I'm worried that Tim Kaine has a 2 point lead, I'm worried that Junior was there last night, I'm worried about the mediawhore pre-election puffpieces and I'm worried about what sort of voting machines Virginia is using.
I hope I'm wrong, but my gut is worried.

12. This is a state race on local issues. |
|
This has nothing to do with any national issues at all. I won't use it as a referendum on Bush if Kaine wins and I won't be depressed about it being a victory for Bush if Kaine loses.

And when Kilgore loses (he's trailing in the last SUSA poll from the weekend by five points), Bush and his minions will blithely ignore the results, and deny that they had anything to do with Kilgore's loss. The media, of course, will give him yet another pass.
But it is a sign of how desperate things are for Bush right now that the best chance he's got for looking better is a Hail Mary victory by Kilgore in Virginia. If it doesn't work, well, nobody really expected Kilgore to win, anyway, but he got so close thanks to the magic of the President's unerring political touch.
You can practically write your own Republican blast fax by now.

3. I just saw a video of Bush stumping for Kilgore ... |
|
I wish they would have warned me first on CNN ... no joke, seeing all that EVIL on the stage, both men so disgustingly arrogant and morally bankrupt literally made me physically ill.
It makes me want to cry how so many people still seemingly "buy into" the Right Wing Republican lies.
Yea Brethern, it's all about LOWER TAXES, KICKING ALIEN ASS and stopping all those evil young women from NOT having all those "love children" ... ample cannon fodder for future "Wars for Peace." :puke:

I remember sitting the polls Nov 04, just knowing in my heart and soul that by all indicators, John Kerry would win. Nationally I was devastated, but also, I think all us Democrats were "impressed" by the close edge Bush had here in the State of Virginia ... 55-45%. Gee, I am hoping that our good state may be on it's way to turning BLUE!
I'll follow close behind you and go to vote for Tim Kaine right after I drop my daughter off at elementary school.
Did anyone else get NUMEROUS computerized phone calls that would even bleed into your answering machine? Yes, I am convinced that Kilgore would run the state like Bush has run the country - into the DUST.
Yes Go Kaine! I do believe the vote counting is honest in Virginia ... I hope (and pray) the same as you! :hi:

7. Bush called Kilgore "a man of character and integrity" |
|
.......when you consider that many people now question Bush's integrity, I'm not sure if this is good or bad for Kilgore!
I mean if a person who is known to be a liar, tells you that someone else is honest, do you really believe him?

17. Question on vote-rigging. |
|
Since Kaine is the Lt. Governor, wouldn't he know what pieces of shit Diebold machines are?
Couldn't he do something to stop the bleeding of his votes?
Just wondering.
