i believe it is time for us to make Lieberman switch
I am sick of him using our names as democrats and still voting with the repukes. Why doesn't he just jump ship. What keeps him on as a democrat, is it just to screw up our image and message. I am sure if Stepford, Connecticut really does love him, then they will vote for him no matter what party it is. We can never really have party unification if there is always this ass that screws up everything. Maybe i am ranting but i am sick of this. I just listened to the debates from both sides and Levin was awesome and so was Reid. I think Reid needs to flog Joe's ass and tell him to wake up. If he wants to be a republican so bad then to move to north dakota and run there.

3. That would get a Repuke in, but what the hey...as far as I'm concerned
get Joe out in any way possible. If a Repuke gets in, then we get him out in 6 years. CT has no powerful Repukes (other than the Governor) so the person elected will be pretty damn weak and easy to get out in 6 years. It's better than keeping that enabler around who just might turn Repuke after he takes Dem dollars to get re-elected in 2006.

2. Nah, we can use his presence to regain the chairmenships
Control of the senate means control of the agenda, even if Joe doesn't vote our way.

is not that popular - but she is still Governor. Lieberman is a worthless Dem - but i guess he balances off Chafee across the border in RI

15. "is not that popular " survey usa says otherwise
75% to 21%, one of the highest in the country. that's a major reason the ct dems can't get a viable candidate against her

11. I agree with you. As much as I hate how he acts...
he still counts as 1 for our side in reference to becoming the majority party in the Senate. My preference would be for him to be replaced with a better Democrat, but, if that's not possible, we need him to be a Democrat.

19. He can choose to switch parties. Then that gives Dems an opening to
run a real Democrat.

I think the pressure for him is to resign from office while at the same time lining up an candidate who is a real Dem and who can whup his butt with her/his little finger.

Gosh, anyone from Connecticut here?

8. Congressional Democrats need to limit his appearances
Whenever I see Joe talking with the MSM "for the Democratic view", I'm ready to throw my shoe at the TV. Every time they put him up there and describe him as a "moderate", it's just reminds me how much trouble this country's in.

14. i'm sure they'd tell you the party doesn't decide the nominee
the voters do. and so far no one is willing to run against lieberman, d or r.

16. Someone is running against him
A university professor, I believe and I thought there was one more person.

He knows he's on thin ice too. The head of the Connecticut Dems told him that they might not go with him in 06 because that's how mad they are at him for his Repub votes but he started talking about not wanting to be held to a "litmus test" or some such nonsense.

But he knows there are two groups started on the internet devoted to unseating him, and that he has higher approval ratings from Repubs than Dems.

That's why you haven't heard much from him lately. He's in trouble and knows it. He has to stay away from the Repubs and their POV. So the more he embraces them, or speaks their POV, the more he hurts himself at home.

So I say let him keep talking and let his opponant connect him to Bush as much as possible.

18. The university professor Ormen (sp?) dropped out after having
only raised $1000 or so. I have not heard of any other candidates in the primary race. There's until June to file though.

Too bad politics isn't more like pro sports, Dean could ring up the GOP and offer a striaght-up trade of Lieberman for either Collins or Snowe.
