The Repug & MSM spin on the GOP scandals is that they ALL do it.
Already, Tweety and other talking heads are insisting that there's nothing to the fact that all the recent scandals (Cunningham, Frist, DeLay, Libby, Abramoff, Ney, Ken Lay, etc.) involve Republicans.

According to them, that's just a coincidence.

Personally, I think it is obvious that the reason all these scandals involve Republicans is directly related to the fact that Republicans, as a party, are inherently more corrupt and dishonest than Democrats.

History bears this out. Except for phony, politically based, trumped-up investigations (Whitewater, Paula Jones), it is only rarely that a Democrat is caught in a major scandal -- and even then the scandal is almost always restricted to a single wrongdoer. Rostenkowski went to prison for converting stamps into cash. Trafficant (if one can call him a Democrat) went to jail for using public funds for private purposes and lying about it.

Those cases were peanuts compared to the average Republican scandal.

Look at how BIG recent Republican scandals have been -- and how deeply they usually involve other Republicans, or even the whole GOP (Watergate, Iran-Contra, etc.).

So we shouldn't let the Repugs frame the issue as "they all do it."

We should insist that the FACTS show that it is NOT both parties that do it.

Republicans do it much more often and much more cravenly than Democrats. And with a GOP scandal, people often die.

1. Well I think it is more like this------- When one party gets---
all the power and I think you will find that the Dem. were the same but their greed was not as big.

3. Chris Matthews kept insisting corruption is nonpartisan last night
He was beating the drum to give cover for the Repubs by repeating his mantra about how "we all agree that corruption is nonpartisan", even though his guest tried to emphasize that the corruption can be linked to the failure of oversight and accountability by Repubs now that they are in control and assumed they could get away with it.
