Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 08:46 PM by jus_the_facts
......sittin' here thinkin' about how many more MONOPOLIES there are these days.....we learned in AMERICAN FREE ENTERPRISE how wrong it is....in the past decade corps have been merging merging merging to have ULTIMATE power and control....yet nobody seems to care much about it......just wondering if anyone else here is concerned and thinks as I do...that this issue is extremely important as it also increases the ability for these MEGA CORPS to lobby the gov't?!

1. We're about at the point...
Where you can name any industry.. and then name the "Big 5" shortly thereafter. (And the big 5 are almost always in collusion)

2. I agree
these companies are becoming way to powerful. We need a strong dose of anti-trust. This is exactly the type of thing that anti trust laws were made to prevent.

3. We should also try to INHIBIT the size of corporations
We should make it hard for corporations to grow beyond a certain size. The more small corporations there are, the most the averge citizen is empowered. As corporations get more power, citizen power is diminished.
