Can a republican possibly embarrass another republican? |
|
I can imagine Senator Chaffee whincing when he reads the paper every morning but do other republicans give a fuck about the sleeze that is in their party? They are pissed because Duke got caught, not cause he did anything wrong. They will embrace a troop withdrawal plan next year, not because it is the right thing to do but it will be the way get elected. Can the actions of today's republican party possibly shame its enablers?

1. Sen Jeffords was embarrassed enough to change to an Independent |
|
I'd say he was embarrassed by his Party.

2. Can a RepubliCon actually be shamed? |
|
I suggest they are past that point. The only remorse they feel is when they are caught and the gavel is dropped!

4. OK, let me put on the flame retardant PJs--YES |

Bush, and the Bush asshole ensemble hijacked the Republican Party. I was one of those fiscally conservative types who believed less Gov. was best. That surplus was a good thing. That investment included human resources, and that those of us gifted with special talents and capabilities had to shoulder greater responsibilities. That there are no free lunches, and that white collar crime is still a felony meritorious of huge penalties and prison time--and not in luxury prisons, either. I could go on and on.
The political landscape is a shitty wasteland. I'm guilty of having been asleep at the wheel, and nose to the grindstone and all that is not sufficient excuse. I also admit that I don't understand a lot of what goes on here at DU--is there cohesion or isn't there?--but I look forward to reading certain favorite posters.
I'm learning. I regret that "Politicians" have been flinging shit for a long time. I will not forget that these assholes are accountable to the public. So, yeah, shame on me.

5. Thank you for being here |

Making an effort to come to a place like DU to consider a wide range of viewpoints is great. I disagree with many things said here, but more often I agree, and there is much information available here that is virtually impossible to find most places.
I can honorably disagree with a lot of old school non corporate non religious right Republicans, as opposed to despising the bunch in power now, but the Party those old school Republicans knew has been stolen from them and too many of them still haven't figured that out.
