ABB can triumph, regardless of nominee...Get on board!
I see so much negativity on this forum, towards so many candidates. I see polls that almost always, regardless of subject, are a DU popularity contest. The mods have done a fantastic job of keeping us from pummeling each other into submission. We need to have these conversations and we need to choose wiseley. Our candidate is going up against the gauntlet. Thanks mods. :)

Sadly, we need more than great mods to overcome this problem though. We need some sort of unity. That unity can certainly come in the form of the ABB vote. The essence of an ABB voter is not necessarily support for the Dem. nominee, it is a vote that says George W. Bush isn't worth 2.4 million jobs lost, over 500 soldiers lost,

Perhaps the greatest thing we can do, from my political scientist P.O.V., is get all our voters out, and the nominee's message must appeal to ABB's and ABN'S (Anybody But Nominee)... This is the great challenge, and only our goal will support this effort.

There's no doubt the Republicans have a majority in all branches of government, and a majority of the states' governors' offices... but we have the monopoly on anger and love of our country, or we wouldn't be fighting to find out what is the perfect prescription for the country. We have the monopoly on good candidates. We have the monopoly on innovative and principaled leaders, look no farther than the issue of gay marriage for proof.

I read that 10% of voters in this election will be swing voters (I haven't confirmed this - but I would agree to that being the general ballpark figure.). In the last election this stat was up around 32-36% (depending on who you want to believe). If 10% is truly the number, barring tragedy, the whole election will be decided on who does a better job mobilizing. We were out-mobilized in 2000 and 2002 in our key areas. That should NEVER happen again.

When our party unites AGAINST Bush, our party will win. We will win. I know we don't necessarily understand this term "win" as of late, but put the most simply, it means -

No more Bush.

For fuck's sake... Isn't that THE MISSION here on DU??? It is mine.
