John Kerry: We will give America back its truth
Kerry's speech after winning New Hampshire.

http://argument.independent.co.uk/podium/story.jsp?story=485965

I make you this pledge tonight: I have spent my whole life fighting against powerful interests - and I've only just begun to fight. I have a message for the influence peddlers, for the polluters, the health maintenance organisations, the drug companies, big oil and all the special interests who now call the White House home: We're coming. You're going. And don't let the door hit you on the way out.

This victory also belongs in a special way to the veterans who marched with us and lifted us up from the lowest points to where we stand tonight. In the hardest moments of the past month, I depended on the same band of brothers I depended on more than 30 years ago. We're a little older, a little grayer, but we still know how to fight for our country.

Stand with us - and we will give America the security of energy independence, because our sons and daughters should never have to fight and die for Mideast oil. Stand with us - and we will give America back its truth as a country where freedom rings, a country of equal rights and civil liberties where the Attorney General is no longer named John Ashcroft.

5. He has to really decide where he stands on this war.
"because our sons and daughters should never have to fight and die for Mideast oil"

One of the reasons Kerry is way down on my list of candidates. *Bush didn't "do it the right way", but isn't it dandy we got Saddam?

11. Hooray!! The DLC has their pro-war establishment candidate!! Kerry
has decided where he is on the war. He's stands with Bush and will get Jim Baker involved when he's president. Talk about an agent of change!

Go to the DLC site and see Kerry's latest 'thoughts'.

12. gag
If Kerry gets annointed it will be buffoon vs babboon.

Some choice. Dems will vote responding to media blitzes portraying the candidates of hope as "unelectible" in favor of the status quo, or fear of Bush(ABB). Take our country back from what? Kerry is an untalented politician who will garner only begrudging support vs a multi-million dollar campaign waged against him. The dirty tricks he pulled on Dean will be amateurish by comparison. If he loses, there can always be Hilliary in '08. Should he win, he will end up setting the party back for years to come by just sheer politics as usual without the added benefit of a charismatic and charming politician.

17. Well, I'll check in
Kerry isn't the only candidate I support, and this is a typical politician-type speech. But unlike some folks, I don't consider electing a politician president an unforgivable sin ;)

23. If he did hire Dean
then all of Kerry's speeches would be full of misleading statements. No thanks.

16. Who is Kerry to speak of "truth"?
He and Lieberman are such perfect examples of the professional Washington politician who ended up actually believing in his own electability... And this professional politician speaks as curator of "the truth"? Haha!

Here's a clue: CRE-DI-BI-LI-TY.

A wooden board has more of that and conviction power, too, vis-à-vis Bush. Surprising perhaps, but you really can't beat an established and entrenched power junkie with another.

I'll write Bob Graham in first before considering support for Kerry.

21.  I've only just begun to fight
Riiiiight, Johnny. The time to fight was before you voted for the IWR and the Patriot Act. What a typical political speech. Hahahaha! I like this part.....Stand with us - and we will give America the security of energy independence, because our sons and daughters should never have to fight and die for Mideast oil. Stand with us - and we will give America back its truth as a country where freedom rings, a country of equal rights and civil liberties where the Attorney General is no longer named John Ashcroft.

NOW he's worried about civil liberties? Give me a break. Our sons and daughters should never have to die for mideast oil????? *cough*cough*cough*cough*cough*cough*cough* YOU SENT THEM THERE JOHNNY! That is one of the funniest speeches I've read in a long time.
