DNC Launches "America Deserves The Truth" Video
Washington, DC - Amid new reports that President Bush may have illegally
ordered the National Security Agency to spy on Americans, a widening
credibility gap, a growing list of unanswered questions facing the already
scandal-plagued Bush White House, tonight the President will attempt to change
the subject. In the latest stop of the P.R. campaign for his failed Iraq
strategy, the President is sure to give a speech chock full of the same tired
rhetoric. But it is unlikely he will offer any answers to questions raised by a
report released last week by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service
confirming that despite repeated claims by the President and Vice President,
Congress in fact did not have access to the same pre-war intelligence as the
Bush White House.
The CRS report again calls into question this Administration's ability to be
truthful with the American people and underscores the importance of a thorough
and complete investigation into the manipulation of pre-war intelligence. As
Senate Democrats continue to press for answers, the Democratic National
Committee released the following video today to set the record straight,
calling on President Bush to be truthful with the American people about the
manipulation of pre-war intelligence. The DNC will also release the ad to
grassroots leaders and state Democratic party organizations all across the
country.
