DailyZomby #3: Post-Debate Positive Candidate Thread! |
|
Dennis Kucinich: I was hoping he would have a chart for Brokaw, but it was even better when he cut him off to defend his stance on the UN participation with Iraq and his post-occupation plan. It was classic DK, and makes me appreciate him even more. He is the People's Candidate.
John Edwards: Though my biggest disagreement with him is on the war, he is second only to DK with his domestic labor agenda. He has Dick Clark's aging genes, as we were reminded when he brought up his age. He is 5 years older than Clinton was at this point in 1992, and no less qualified. I eagerly await to see how his birth state treats him in the primary.
Wes Clark: He defended the separation of church and state without any waffling or qualification. Brokaw tried baiting him, and he did not comply. This is one of my permanent pet issues, and Clark hit a home run. What part of the establishment clause of the 1st amendment do Republicans not understand?
Al Sharpton: Al was in peak form last night, energized by his presence in a state much more to his liking than New Hampshire. He knocked down the GOP and Brokaw (not to be redundant) with due haste.
Howard Dean: Dean again gave Dennis his due as being the earliest anti-Iraq war critic. He was measured and direct with his replies, and is taking advantage of the fresh start in the south. His supporters can take heart with this latest debate appearance.
John Kerry: No one knows his Senate record better, or knows what it takes to get major legislation passed. He is not only a Vietnam veteran, but a Reagan and Bush I era veteran as well. His experience should be heeded, even in areas of disagreement.
Joe Lieberman: He finally spoke up hard against Bush at the end of the debate, which is what is needed. The voters cannot be reminded enough what a travesty the occupant of the Oval Office is.

since I don't get MSNBC.
I'm enjoying it-I can feel the energy from the audience through the TV-which is great for us, the good guys!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=232200&mesg_id=232200This is the "debate" the mainstream media has been depriving us of. But last night's was the best. I have some problems with the disdain I felt Clark was the recipient of from Brokaw. But the questions, for once, were substantive and that's the most important thing.

6. Yeah, but Brockaw is a dick |
|
No worries, I think Clark did fine-- and I'm a DK supporter. Brokaw must have been on some sort of prescription last night. "Nation of Islam"??? WTF TOM? You've been a newsman for over thirty years, and you don't know what that is???
Brokaw was the only loser last night. He came off as pompous, unprofessional and unprepared. Maybe it's a good thing he's retiring from Nightly News this year.

He handled brokewhores' BS question lead in... "General Clark, you've been quite outspoken in blaming the Bush administration for the terrorist attacks of 9/11. You better... " like a PRO.
He also managed to answer the question about Clinton very well. I was impressed, and I'm sure others were as well.
(really Tom, is how Clinton handled things a campaign issue to you?)
