Kerry Slams Republican 'Attack Dogs'; Vows Fight

Front-runner John Kerry said on Friday he was ready to take on Republican "attack dogs" who already are zeroing in on his Democratic presidential campaign. In a conference call with reporters to accept the endorsement of Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek of Florida, Kerry said the attacks proved his message was threatening to Republicans, who now control the White House. "Republicans are scared stiff," Kerry said. "That's why they are sending their attack dogs out."

"It isn't going to work," he added. "I'm a fighter."

<snip>

Asked if he felt President Bush had legitimately won the contested state of Florida in the 2000 presidential election, Kerry said only that "a lot of people were unhappy" with the results and that he intended to make sure that the voting was done correctly this time around.

"I'm going to have a very strong legal team ... begin its work to ensure that ... every vote is counted," he said in Columbia, where he was taking part in a candidate forum before heading off to Delaware and later to Missouri.

2. "Vows Fight"
That's really all I've ever wanted from any of our democrats; I'm tired of being bullied -- I want someone who will stand up to those goons and fight, and Dean is so good at that. Hope Kerry can too.

4. I echo your sentiments; I want our nominee to give as good as he gets, too
He has to be very tough, tougher than Gore was in 2000.

3. "Quit crying in your teacups"
More macho rhetoric that doesn't jive with the facts. Ask the black caucus if Kerry was willing to put up a fight.

6. None of our candidates sided with the Black Caucus
except perhaps Sharpton. That's a red herring.

10. I believe that when asked if he was asked
Kerry responded: No, and I wouldn't have helped them if they did. Or words to that effect. Right there on the record.

14. Link?
Or is your "Right there on the record" referring to some fictional record?

5. Is Kerry really a "fighter"?
So far, it I think Dean and Clark are fighting harder than Kerry is, but I guess time will tell.

7. Funny - NOW Kerry Wants to Fight, Before He Said Get Over It.

http://www.buzzflash.com/contributors/03/07/10_kerry.html

"As the nation prepared to celebrate her heritage of freedom last week, Senator John Kerry offered his own peculiar take on the meaning of democracy: "Stop crying in your teacups," he told an audience in response to outcries about the stolen election of 2000. "Get over it!" ("He is impatient with Democratic oratory about the 'stolen' election," a July 2 article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer noted.)"

Not unlike his statements on CNN regarding Bush as a deserter -- when given the chance to stand behind Wes Clark or behind George Bush -- Kerry said - statements about Bush being a deserter were "over the top."

What a fighter.

8. can he take a stand on BBV?
will he declare that touch-screen voting must have an accompanying verifiable paper trail?

someone get him to make a statement about this!

it's time to make this a national issue. Kerry wants the bully pulpit? he's got one right now!

someone needs to do this for America!

12. It won't be a Killer blow
But a swarm of Army Ants, super glue and a thousand cuts. It throws you off message while the Thuglican minions slime you to near death. It won't kill you but it slows you down and makes you vulnerable in the end.

Take Gore and Dean. Gore is stiff but when a spirited candidate arrives he (Dean) labeled as 'over the top'. This isn't media schizophrenia but contrasting evidence that this is planned media assault.
