Why No General Panic at BushCo? |
|
Why do the powers-that-be-for-yet-a-little-while continue on their mindless, useless campaigns when it is obvious that those campaigns are not working?
Why aren't the rats abandoning ship? It's been the whistleblowers, not the prison guards, so far.
Even if Bush has written pardons and handed them out as holiday presents, we can still arrest and ship them all off to the Hague on War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity charges. They haven't tried to sabotage the ICC, just ignore it.
Even the Fixer, John Bolton, hasn't managed to bollix up the UN, and Lord knows, he's been trying. Nobody is playing along with him, not even Israel.
I asked a friend in financial services, and he opined that they were so isolated in their little bubbleworld that they really didn't see the truck approaching. When that out-of-control truck known as the economy hits home, they are going to be stunned.
The alternative is that they have a Golden Parachute of sorts. But I suspect that short of leaving the planet, there is no place that would shelter them now.
Any thoughts on any of these issues?

When you have control of the White House, the Senate, the House, the Supreme Court, and the bureacracy --- and when you have an entrenched ruling class Republican culture of corruption -- your really don't give a shit what the Little People think.
I mean, if you are one of the Elite, why should you trouble your Beautiful Mind with such petty concerns of democracy?

3. It is the Stay the Course mantra of the White House |

Since they believe they are above the law, there is no reason to change their tune. Just keep doing what you have been doing, pay no attention to the chimp behind the curtain. This I hope will be the final blow to the regime, arrogance.

Representatives and Senators are committed. Sides have been drawn and they are on the side of tyranny. They are too far in to back out now. They are on the side of the money. This form of government is beneficial to them and their rich friends. They have no concern for the poor, seniors, unions, struggling middle class, students. They prove this almost daily. They are on the side of wealth and power. They will support martial law.

Exponential paradigmatic lying. The next step in any plan is a lie large enough to encompass all previous lies.

8. This Idea Makes A Lot of Sense |
|
It fits the pattern of the BushCo modus operendi. A Ponzi scheme that the schemers bought into and can't disengage from. So they will be at the bottom of the heap when it all comes crashing down. Kind of like Enron revisited.
Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions, everyone.

I watched that movie again last night. The scene where Bill Murry (Hunter Thompson) runs into to Nixon in the the bathroom, and Murry is explaining about the different people in our society. And Nixon tell Murry "Fuck The Doomed" That bout sums it up!

Power only responds to power...these guys have the power and there isn't a force out there strong enough to challenge that power. They can carry on their lunatic plans with impunity.
There is only one, small achille's heel that they have to worry about and I think they might be trying to shore up that weakness too. It's the Congress.
Much of what is protecting them now is that they control Congress. That gives them control of the courts too so that's two legs of their three-legged stool. If the Congresscritters start fearing for their seats (translated:POWER) and start running away from the Bush* administration, then the whole system could collapse around them.

9. They Only Have Power To Destroy, Though |
|
and once they have destroyed a certain amount, the consequences will get them.
Look at Castro, or Chavez. They went for the power of construction, sometimes coupled with a tight fist on dissent. That's why Castro's lasted so long, and why Chavez survives. BushCo has created a facade, a Potemkin village, but that's not real and it won't last; in fact, it's been falling down ever since construction started. And thanks to some primordial American instinct, the urge to dissent is not getting stifled by the media lies any longer: it's growing to a roar.

11. The general public is easily lead as well Bushcorp knows. |
|
That is one reason that a republic government is important. Hopefully, the representatives of the general public are more informed and partially immune to the propaganda machine. However this failed miserably in 2002 when our representatives yielded and supported the Bushcorp War. Then turned around and supported the Patriot Act. We are only one Reichstag event away from being under total executive branch control. I believe when it happens, at least 50% of the general public will support it.

14. I thought that in 2004, but was naively surprised that about 50% of |

voters thought everything was peachy under Bushcorp. We will make some progress in 2006 but not enough to stop the momentum toward tyranny. Bushcorp has almost complete control of this Country.

I know why we don't see the public rising rapidly, it's just why don't we hear even the slightest uneasiness from more than a handful of GOP Senators?
