Got guts?
I think I get it now. Patriotic Democrats are supposed to either go with the flow....not make waves....or suffer the wrath of the DLC, the RNC, corporate media hacks, the Morals Police, Pat Robertson and his American Taliban, inside-the-beltway pundits and other folks who somehow procured exclusive rights to the American flag.

Don`t ask where the missing war billions are. Don`t ask why corporations have more rights than citizens. If you see a torture plane take off, cover your eyes and pretend it`s someone going on vacation. Follow the government`s Acceptable Books List so your library doesn`t get a visit.
If you have nothing to hide, just don`t worry about the so-called spying scandal. Been downsized? Just get yourself retrained, even if you`re 64 and live 64 miles from nowhere. Concerned about the national debt? Simple. Start a petition drive against helping minimum wage single mothers. Sick over the war in Iraq? Too bad. Leave the foreign policy stuff to the president.

Whatever you do, DON`T mention impeachment. Don`t whisper it, breathe it, suggest it, sign petitions supporting it, don`t even think it. Why? It`s saved for serious offenses....not this everyday stuff like lying about reasons for war or going around the courts and spying on citizens or committing war crimes or paying journalists to spread propaganda or inviting oil company executives to write the energy bill or torturing people or having citizens arrested because of their bumperstickers or outing clandestine CIA operatives or rigging elections. No. Impeachments should be used as a last resort when a leader does something so awful that America`s very being is threatened. Like lying about oral sex.

Oops, sorry. Guess I wasn't supposed to do that.

But, on reflection, I'm not gonna stop. Not sorry, either.
