Dean falls farther behind Kerry
How can a presidential contender spend $40 million and not have any victories?

That’s the question Howard Dean now confronts. Dean, who has fallen well behind Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry in Demo Derby’s current ranking, is at risk of becoming the John Connally of the 2004 campaign.

Connally, the Democrat-turned-Republican who served as Treasury Secretary under President Nixon and ran for the GOP nomination in 1980, was the last contender to raise the most money in the year prior to an election and yet not win his party’s nomination.

Kerry's lead over Dean was strengthened Friday with the release of a set of new MSNBC/Reuters Zogby polls in four of the states that vote next Tuesday.

According to Zogby's surveys, Kerry dominates in Missouri, with 45 percent. Running a distant second in that state is North Carolina Sen. John Edwards at 11 percent. If these numbers hold, Kerry could sweep all 74 of Missouri's delegates.

In another key Tuesday primary state, Arizona, Kerry holds a 21-point lead over retired Gen. Wesley Clark.

3. "I still dont understand why people even support Kerry."
Maybe because he's a decorated war hero who has the experience, the character, and the foreign policy credentials to actually beat Bush in November. Did you ever consider that?

9. How can he oppose him
when he has voted YES for everything that bush wanted. When Kerry screams about the war , bush says why did you vote for it, when kerry screams repeal the tax cuts , bush will say why did you vote yes. the repukks must be salivating at his nomination, they have so much to kill him with. I hope you enjoy four more years of bush

18. I do have my facts straight!!!!!!
While in command of Swift Boat 44, Kerry and crew operated without prudence in a Free Fire Zone, carelessly firing at targets of opportunity racking up a number of enemy kills and some civilians. His body count included-- a woman, her baby, a 12 year-old boy, an elderly man and several South Vietnamese soldiers.
"It is one of those terrible things, and I'll never forget, ever, the sight of that child," Kerry later said about the dead baby. "But there was nothing that anybody could have done about it. It was the only instance of that happening."
Kerry said he was appalled that the Navy's ''free fire zone'' policy in Vietnam put civilians at such high risk.

JOHN KERRY KILLED A CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!

20. I'd rather he had a substantial record representing us
Seeing as how he repeatedly denigrated his medals while speaking against the war,JK will be to the first to admit getting wounded doesn't make you more or less heroic than the guy next to you.

No, I expect to see someone stand up to the War machine and shut it down. Or try.

He did once. He didn't this time.

5. I agree 100%
Someone please say something substantive about why Kerry is the frontrunner. I like all of the dems except Lieberman better than Kerry, what a horrible candidate. You all will see come November.

17. Okay...
how about my candidate being the first to stand up to Bush, the first to talk about grassroots, the first to show some real passion, and many other firsts to go along with a fine record as governor. The other candidates have capitalized off of Dean's ideas, the media attacks on Dean, and admittedly Dean's mistakes(which were magnified by the media). Your turn.
