Call-In
In Depth with Doris Kearns Goodwin
C-SPAN
Doris Kearns Goodwin
It was a 3 hour call in show. She talked about Lincoln, as well as FDR, and LBJ who she'd worked for.
The historical perspective was fascinating. One thing she said was that Lincoln said that the Civil War strengthened the power of the corporations, although this was before the Industrial revolution.
So were some of the callers who tried to get her to agree with their talking points.
One of them asked her what could the Democrats possibly do for the country or something like that, yada yada the Dems have no solutions, blah, blah.
Haha.
She listed so many things the Dems were basically responsible for like Social Security, Civil Rights, and other stuff.
It would be nice to think the caller's eyes were opened by the response, but more likely the caller dismissed Doris Kearns Goodwin as a leftie etc etc.
