Puke Alert - ABC This Week 1/1/06
Well, the shiny new talking points have been rolled out.

* The American people are misguided, they don't support the pretzel because they don't understand why we went into Iraq.
* It will be interesting to see how Arlen Specter conducts the NSA investigation, (Repugs
refrain from saying wiretapping), especially when he got so much help in the primary
when he needed it.
* The pretzel had to wiretap w/o a warrant because the country was such a shambles after
9-11 that he didn't have time to monkey around with congress, and now if the Congress
does piddle around with hearings, they will just give him a green light anyway.
* The pretzel's popularity is on the rise.
* When we win the war in Iraq, the pretzel will be able to rewrite history so anything
he did wrong will be changed to what he did right.

this is a rough summary but you get the picture, among the cheerleaders was George Will.

3. Thanks for the reality check
I like to see trending which shows the majority of Americans are leaning towards a democratic candidate.

4. agree, they call anyone who disagrees with them misguided
I also am steamed over the obivious partisanship of their remark on Specter. God forbid
that he should put the Constitution, the American people and legality ahead of the
Republican Party.

6. 0h oh, Rummy knows where the WMD are....Does this fucking game
ever end?

Then there’s the lies. There was the whole uranium thing; the WMD thing; the Saddam/Al Qaeda thing. I mean, these guys really have that “never let the facts stand in the way of the truth” thing down pat. Not just about some things, but, let’s face it, this guy lies about virtually everything. Okay, he apparently told the truth about the NSA spying on US citizens and probably some legal resident aliens, as well. And, if you can still believe anything that comes out of the White House, the Congress, at least the intelligence committees, sent their pubic hair along this time, because some of them—Democrats, too—knew about the NSA spying and said nothing. But even in telling the truth, or some of it, anyway, the Bush crowd still has to lie about the details.

And the real pisser is that Lieberman sucked right into this nothingless vacuum that is screwing the living shit out of the American people.

8. agree, forgot to mention they compared Bush to Abe Lincoln
these are 2 different wars, our civil war and the war in Iraq. If Lincoln suspended habeas
corpus, he was fighting a brutal war on our soil. Lincoln had principles, remember the
Gettysburg Address. The atrocities of the civil war were investigated and judged atrocities. I cannot see Abe Lincoln giving money to the Prez of Mexico to torture people. I hate wrapping our leaders up in the flag which makes them immune from high crimes and misdemeanors.

7. that's a good summary, a pirate quote
I also don't like the comment by George Will that the president can rewrite history if
he wins in Iraq. (everything he did will be right then.) I wish George Will would
answer this question: If Hitler had won in World War II, would everything that he
had done would that be considered right. What do you think, George?

9. Another question, if Hitler had won where would the Catholic
church be today? Still backing Germany or in the grave with the Jews?

10. still backing Germany , of course
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 12:40 PM by MissWaverly
remember a central plank of the Nazis was the support of religion, they were for the family
and religion. The problem is that they were lying hypocrites, while they were giving hug
the puppy speeches and giving lip service to family values and the church, they were torturing and murdering countless innocents to get their utopia. Remember the German
people bought in to the Utopia theory, no crime, no mental illness, no poverty, a
secure and triumphant state that believed in family values.

11. I remember well MissWaverly and I remember how they
changed their tune after Germany was defeated.

The family values and moral issues should hit home for persons that want a parallel between the two time lines.

12. we must stand up
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 01:30 PM by MissWaverly
I heard Ben Ferencz, the Chief procesecutor at Nuremberg on C-Span the other night, the Germans excused their actions as self defense, we can not allow our government to go down the same road. It scares me that George Will is basically saying that might makes right, it
does not and cannot, like it or not, we are part of our world community and we are subject
to international law.

Here's a link to his website that he gave on c-span.

Thank you for posting, we need people like you to speak up or we are lost.
