Moderates in Kansas plan forum

A forum called “Take Back Kansas: How We Can Move Kansas Back to the Middle, and Why it Matters” will be next month at Plymouth Congregational Church.

State Board of Education member Sue Gamble will be the featured speaker at the event, scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan 26, at the church, 925 Vt.

Gamble, a Shawnee Republican, has opposed the board majority’s efforts to criticize evolution in school standards. The forum is being sponsored by the MAINstream Coalition, a nonprofit organization that works to maintain separation of church and state and promote public education.
