1. An argument they can't win

The authors of the links you provide are Un-American. They represent another reason why we must do more to prevent unnecessary, unjust wars in the future.

Luckily these people are in the minority. The last poll I heard said something like 2/3 of Americans believe Viet Nam was wrong and we never should have gotten into it. If these militants want to make this an issue I'm sure 2/3 will come to feel the same way about Iraq. Both wars were based on lies. Both wars destroyed the lives or psyches of thousands of our fellow citizens.

Hysterical anti-communism was the basis for our country committing innumerable evil acts all around the world for 40 years. My greatest fear following 911 was that anti-terrorism would be used as the basis for another 40 years of shame. So far it looks like my greatest fears are being realized...
