The American Gulag
Have you ever wondered if US citizens are being held captive by the administration of Fearless Leader? Do you want to know where they are? I know. I used to be one of them. I was threatened, assaulted, electrocuted and shot at,I had my family destroyed, but then I escaped. I spent almost 20 years in the Gulag but now i'm a free man. If you want to know where the inmates are, just look in the mirror. You are an inmate in the Gulag as well.
They will take away your job, destroy your reputation in the community because these things you value. Once you let go and realize that the only thing that truly has value is your self respect. Once you cease to fear them, you will truly be free.

They can kill me, but I will die a free man.

1. G. U. Lag (Glavnoe Upravleniye Lagerey):Main Administration of Camps
Sorry for being sceptical, but just how were you imprisioned and then freed? I see your allegory, but I think you are comparing two things that are within a significantly different. Do you really know what happened in the GULAGs, Kolhozes, and Sovkozes?

2. They are only different in that the Soviet Gulag had barbed wire
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 11:11 AM by formercia
A bullet from the barrel of a Soviet assasin or an administration assasin has the same result.

The only reason i'm alive today is that they missed.

I've read the samizdat from the camps. I know what happened.

Not what he wanted to hear. I said we were being lied to. That we were engaged in an operation that Congress would not approve of, and when it was activated, I resigned in protest. That was my 'crime'.

Spit it out and quit with the allegory! Otherwise you just sound like a loon (which you are doing quite well)...that's just what the RW wants...

Now tell the story. The whole story. You need not use real names if you don't want to... Take a minute or too and write the who, what, where, when, and why. Don't be vague.

10. The CIA doesn't hire crazy people
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 12:33 PM by formercia
but they do make you sign a secrecy agreement, so i'm limited in what I can say.I'm not trying to say that this is some kind of government wide conspiracy, but there are certain people in high places that have found it convenient to use methods that are patently illegal in order to stifle dissent. What does it matter if you kill one person or a million? When you cross the line where you begin to eliminate people for what they believe, then you have lost your moral compass.

You can make you own oppinion. If you were a US Attorney and you were taking my statement under oath, I would be glad to tell you the whole story.

Let it be a warning to those who are thinking of blowing the whistle. Watch your back and trust nobody, not even your best friend.

3. Right, and Bush is not Hitler because Bush has no mustache.
And our propaganda is not propaganda because we don't call it that.

Granted the situation is not peachy and it is possibly leading to fascism but we're not there 100% yet. If we let the bastards go we'll be goose stepping in no time...

and BTW, Stalin had GULAGs and not Hitler.

If there is one thing about DU that annoys me it's folks who think that the moment you show an ounce of skepticism is the moment that you reveal yourself to be a freeper.

6. To be free inside, that's the place to start.
"If you want to know where the inmates are, just look in the mirror. You are an inmate in the Gulag as well."

Maybe it's your own image in the mirror that bothers you. Life is good for me. To be free inside, that's the place to start. If you're a slave to paranoia there's no chance of finding external freedom. Even if it exists outside, you won't experience it. Best wishes for the New Year.

7. Paranoia?
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 11:47 AM by formercia
When someone fires a 9mm round from a suppresed automatic pistol past your right ear is not paranoia. The only reason it didn't land between my eyes is that I ducked when I heard the click of the hammer. It was close enough that I felt the shock wave on the side of my face as it passed by and heard it hit behind me.
I recognized the sound because I have fired one myself.

11. Somehow I think you're making up the whole story
Because you may - or may not have - gotten shot at - at some other time, in some another country - if I am to believe you - does that mean I'm living in a police state? No.

12. You're entitled to your opinion.
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 01:08 PM by formercia
What happened to me is true. I'm not making it up. Only time will reveal the truth. I'm just trying to warn others.

Even in the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany, the average person lived their life without being singled out by the authorities. You just mind your own business, don't say anything controversial, pay your taxes and everything is just fine.
In the Soviet Union, millions of people were commited to psychiatric facilities for doing less that what I said here. The first thing the authorities do is make everyone think you're crazy.

17. Yer full of it.
Bullshit, if you were close enough to hear the hammer click, that gun would have been against yer head. Sorry I own a suppressor I use it on a regular basis on a pistol. I've shot the 1911 suppressed, I've shot 9mm Sigs and Glocks and Berettas suppressed, I've even shot the H&K Mk23 SOCOM suppressed and none of them not one was quiet enough that you could hear the hammer fall if you were anything but the shooter. Yer so full of shit it's not funny.

Using the quietest round I can in .22lr one that won't work the action of my gun it's possible to hear the hammer and only the hammer when you shoot, but guess what it doesn't carry past about 20ft tops.
