You wanna talk about a revolution?
We need to start with the fucking Insurance industries!!!!

My car was totaled on dec, 26 2005 & to this date they still have not sent out an adjuster! I have had State farm since I was 18 (I am 43 now), I also have life insurance & house insurance with them. This is ridiculous!!!

3. Insurance companies, then the pharmaceuticals.
I got 1700 for a car with a 500 dollar deductable when it couldn't be bought in town for less than 4000 dollars. They chose not to cover the cost of the value but effectively the wholesalew-minus cost that's in their book. They took 3 months to pay for the loss of my car and it was stolen.

The Pharmacon industry is not much higher on the list giving doctors quotas of their crap that has to be perscribed out or they punish the doctor, it's absurd. That isn't even covering the outragious costs, pushed product that is more dangerous than the problem and active fight against the American People's right to sue them...

After the Pharmacons though we need to then go after the other industries that are just as bad. We, the US are not to be owned and contolled by some corporations. Not when they are supposed to be made to serve us, the consumers.

4. GRRRR
beat up a pillow or something. Get it out of you.

THE BASTARDS. Man, if you forgot your payment for that long, I wonder how long it would take them to cancel you?

Personally, I think all insurance is a scam and ought to be illegal. How's THAT for radical grannie!?

5. don't get me started
i lost my wedding ring (gulp!) and they are investigating the crap out of us because it's "suspicious".
yeah, right. given the size our total compensation and our mortage debt and the financial value of the ring (not the emotional value), it's 2 or 3 days' pay and a tiny fraction of out total debt. how the hell is that suspicious? especially because mrs. unblock's engagement ring is many multiples more expensive than my wedding ring. but they investigate and investigate and stall and stall, all to delay payment.

about 10 years ago, i was in a car accident. passenger in a cab. i don't need to give any details for you to know that it ain't the fault of the passenger in the cab. i had an open and shut case against both the cab and the car behind. eventually i got the insurance maximum from both (which left a very paltry sum after the lawyers and doctors took their share), but they refused to pay a dime until i sued. note that i didn't seek a lawsuit, they insisted on it as a matter of policy: they would not pay unless sued. and why not? it let them delay payment for THREE YEARS, during which i might have died or given up. meanwhile, they earn interest on my money.

one reform, at a minimum: all payouts should earn INTEREST from the date of loss, or at least from the date of claim filing. that way, at least it removes a major incentive for them to delay payment.

13. Sorry for your loss of your wedding ring
Was it replaced? Is it possible to sue the insurance company for dragging their feet (pain & suffering?)

19. i got mrs. unblock's ring, and she got an upgrade
fortunately, our ring fingers are the same size. her ring is slightly smaller than mine was, but still looks fine on me.
i would have much preferred getting her an upgrade at a more meaningful time, like a major anniversary, but oh well.

supposedly, the "investigation" is now over, so they "should" pay out any day now. of course, it won't cover the upgrade and it certainly won't cover the sentimental loss.

11. hey, i resemble that remark
we're not all crooks over here.

wall street actually has gone through a number of reforms over the years and by and large things are pretty good these days.

that said, where there's money, there will be crooks. the good news is that unless you ignore clear red flags, the worst you're likely to see is getting skimmed for tiny fractions. get greedy and you will get slaughtered, but that can happen even without crooks.

I was hoping for some political action - LOL!

Ok, so you waited ten days for an adjuster over the holidays and you want to start a "Revolution"?

Just curious, how was your car totaled?

I have had EXCELLENT service with State Farm and no, I'm not on their payroll.

14. I was rear-ended on an Interstate in heavy traffic
Car was damaged but not totaled. State Farm took care of everything. I had very little paperwork. They have a great reputation with the repair companies: First-rate parts, no jerking around.
