The new talking point is
that we are trading liberty for security. This is complete nonsense. We are torching liberty at BushCo's wim. We dont know what the taps were used for. We dont know who was monitored. Was it me? You? John Kerry? If these calls were a threat to national security, why couldnt "fearless leader" go through FISA? How will these stand up in court without a warrant? Arent these wiretaps causing more harm to national security then good since every lawyer will use this as a defense.

This is spin and a talking point that needs to be refuted.

1. Foolish talking point.
As you only need to finish Benj. Franklin's quote to show the folly of it.

4. Patrick Henry said "Give me liberty or Give me death" not
"oh wise king George protect us from the Indians, the French, the Spanish, the pirates and wild animals and its okay to trample over our rights" Things were a lot more scary in the 1700's then they are now.

And its not about protection, its about wiretaps without a warrant - bill of rights, Federal law that sort of stuff.

10. That was Benjamin Franklin, who said,
"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security."
