Do we need new leadership concerning pelosi and reid? |
|
I have been holding back on asking this question for months, although they seem to be trying to fight back it dosen't seem to be enough. Reid seems to be to light spoken and willing to believe that the repugs will do what is right , it seems that he or pelosi always wait to see what everyone thinks before they a decision on what to do.

The dems are so wimpy right now it is embarrassing! If they don't stake out a strong contrary position in the very near future, we could still lose in 2006. The triangulation and resultant appearance of weakness plays right into the hands of the opposition.
Most here will vehemently disagree with me, but there it is...

14. Thats why dems always have a problem ... |
|
they are all over the place and don't want to discuss why we have problems. In reality, we don't have any real problems the repugs try to make it like we don't have ideas, when we have all the ideas and they steal them. We have all types of people and don't try to change people, repugs want everyone to think and act the same but they are hypocrites at the same time. They let them portray them as weak. If they are so strong why did osama bin laden get a chance to attack so strong?

3. Heard this from a Republican caller on Washington Journal this A.M. |
|
Question: Have Pelosi and Reid been vilified by the wrong right? That's how you know they've been doing their job.

We could use some better spokesmen to the media, though.

6. Reid seems a lot less timid than Pelosi... |
|
Though I think Nancy is great, I think she's a little too political (open for negotiation) for the position at this time. I wish she would start pounding the grass for snakes. With this Abramhoff scandal about to start toppling a small section of the republican party like a house of cards, it may be prudent for her to prompt the party to go on the offensive.
The democrats need to show that they are fighters and start to demand answers on more than C-span, but go to the media and start interviewing with a single message:
"We're tired of the Republican Party steam rolling the constitution to forward their agenda of greed and power with no accountability. The lies end now! It is time to answer for deceiving and spying on the American people and all those republicans who oppose bi-partisan investigations are obviously just perpetuating this culture of corruption and should be added into the investigation."
Newt Gingrich looked like a baffoon on his bully pulpit in the '90s, but he achieved a republican majority, so who's really the baffoon?

7. really don't understand why - |

considering the problems the Bush admin has been having getting their major initiatives passed
with the majority they have in both houses of Congress
I would think Reid and Pelosi would be seen as doing a good job
what do you consider "doing enough"?

13. Fighting for hearings even if they aren't in charge... |
|
bring it up everytime they get air time bring up the stuff media dosen't want to report and have other dems do the same. Another problem is the talking points, throw out something contraversial and make them (the media )have to report it, repugs do it everytime they are on a show stop answering what they put out .
I am tired of seeing Shrum and Donna Brazile also , we need people who won't back down. We have so much to work with and look how that arrogant bastard is still huffing and puffing, and dancing and prancing like he's not worried about a thing.

8. Pelosi has a little more spunk than Reid but... |
|
sometimes I feel like they don't know what is going on and they aren't tough enough. You have to be two or three steps ahead of these evil bastards, they seem to go to bed thinking up what evil schemes that can use to destroy the working class and the poor, and anyone who they disagree with.
THe dems will think they have an agreement with them and they always have an loophole or something up their sleeve. I also feel that we have to make sure whoever is running against the repubs in the Fall elections are not undercover repubs.
Right now all I see is everybody fighting to get in front of the camera to try to prove to us that they are doing their jobs, they are only doing this because of the elections. I'm am looking at what have they been doing before now.

Considering we have minorities in both houses and have managed to prevent Bush from chalking up ONE major legislative victory in his first "I got political capital and I'm gonna spend it" year back, I'd say we played the situations very well.

and they seem to always back down , like the repugs have something on them. Reid seems as though they have pushed him and coached him on what to say.

He's a boxer and a chess player. He uses force when needed.

I think people need to get a lot more active as citizens and use our power to organize, protest, perform civil actions and wield the power inherent in us according to the Constitution. That means 20 million people surrounding the Capitol until Bushco gets shipped to Guantanamo.
