Bush and the "Patriot" Act
Maybe it was just something I ate back then. But did anyone else get that really heavy feeling in your gut when, at a time of national crisis, Bush and his minions pushed through Congress a bill that would limit the civil rights of Americans for the purpose of "protecting" us....and calling it the "PATRIOT ACT"??

Sorta like any "real" patriot would give up the rights that his or her father had fought to protect on foreign fields of battle. Or maybe a Congressman or Senator would be "un-patriotic" if they didn't, for the sake of "security", vote against a bill that actually makes them break their oath of office to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America"? And in either case, you couldn't possibly be a REAL patriot if you disagreed?

Or how about when we were told that we were going into Iraq to find the damned WMD....but it was named "Operation IRAQI FREEDOM"???

NOW, Heir Bush is name-calling Democrats for not wanting to make the "Patriot" Act PERMANENT? It's not that he doesn't have credibility in the area of "protecting" our civil rights......forget that he told us that when it came to wiretaps, that "nothing had changed", at the same time he was monitoring American citizens WITHOUT and EASY TO GET COURT ORDER...we are supposed to KNOW that we can trust him.

"The job would be a lot easier if it WAS a dictatorship.....as long as I AM the DICTATOR." HEIL BUSH!!!

1. And it was passed quickly
while certain members of Congress (all Dems in leadership positions) were getting Anthrax letters. That says it all, IMHO.

2. Germany had a "patriot act"
Hitler wanted it and made it permanent. That made him above the law.
If it was good enough for Hitler why isn't it good enough for Bush.

3. Exactly!
And it was done for the EXACT same reason.....PROTECTION!....from Communism.
Of course, Hitler ALSO lied his way into occupying Poland...which was HIS Iraq!
