Okay, so Abramoff is gunna plead guilty to corruption. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10692635/)

I'm feeling this is more of the same. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, wore it out.

For five fucking years we've had one story after another that was going to be 'the one'. Fitz fizzled. The domestic spying thing is being well spun by the motherfuckers and idiot son is escaping any blame ... as usual. The lying before the war. The energy task force. The AWOL story. The drugs.

NOTHING sticks to these motherfuckers.

Nothing.

And the Dems ...... silence or enablement.

To be fair, the media is as much to blame for this working in favor the repugs as anyone. The Dems can't get a single message out.

What will it take to rid our country of these thieves and thugs?

I fear we'll never get rid of them.

1. "Dems ...... silence or enablement..."
Save the usual few with some integrity and honesty, the 'opposition' party is an illusion.

2. Right there with ya.......
Honestly I've always been a pretty idealistic and optimistic person. I'm so on the verge of just giving up and not giving a shit that it scares me. Politically everything seems futile. Yes, I blame the media but I also blame the complacent, apathetic majority of people in this country for at worst buying the drivel being poured down their gullets or at best just not giving enough of a shit until it affects them.

I'm already anticipating the utter predictability of Bush and the republicans either drawing down some troops or manufacturing some scare close to the '06 elections and the media and voters falling for it like they normally do. And this time it's even going to be worse because there is more at stake. If the dems gain a majority, even if they are spineless cowards Bush is not going to take the chances of having any checks and balances on his last 2 years.

I'm not completely without hope ..... but then again ...... my hopes wear armor these days in fear of being once again dashed to death.

5. Remember these words: "cumulative effect." Even if * is not
taken down by one big thing, he might die the death of a thousand cuts.

Someday, somehow, hopefully soon, some yet unknown straw will break the camel's back. Somebody who slipped a doctored memory card into a Diebold voting machine is going to get drunk and run off his or her mouth, or become involved in a nasty break-up like Scanlon, or a bitter divorce. Or someone will find out they are terminally ill, have nothing left to lose and want to clear their conscience. Or Bush will humiliate someone close to him who will take their revenge.

September 11th caused a massive mental illness in the people of this country. For several months all I wanted to see were dead Arabs. I actually felt physical relief when we started bombing Afghanistan. I always hated Bush but 9/11 had me hoping he would kick some ass. BushCo either caused or allowed 9/11 to happen or at the least were grossly negligent, but they played the anger and fear of the nation like a Stradivarius.

If worst comes to worst, remember what Churchill said in the darkest day of World War II. "You can always take one with you."

6. I want to get rid of them too. That's why I am working actively on 06.
I have never been one to put too much stock in "Chimpeachment" happening. America likes to stand behind their presidents too much.

10. No matter how good I feel in the beginning....
like after Abramoff going down today, I'm also reminded of all the other 'big ones' that got away. Since 2000, one thing after another - could have taken down any other politician, but not this one. Agreed, it's not just the media...it's Congress who doesn't fight back - except for John Conyers, our hero!

Too much psych involved, don't know what is real and what's not. Isn't that the way the propaganda is catapulted? Keep us busy hoping that each time will be different, each case will be 'the one.' Plame - been there since the beginning, how in the hell did they keep it so quiet? And then, go after the Times when they finally tell the truth. FGS - this has got to be the worse time in the history of this country. Never has so much corruption been tolerated by so many. Is it all about 'terra'...or is the majority corrupted on both sides?

I suppose they could 'out the dems', then pardon Abramoff to return his duties. Hell, he may get the 'Metal of Freedom' in the end...

We'll be left with all this popcorn.
